Owner description: A 6 acre plantsman's garden set in a beautiful landscape
Reviewed December 4, 2012

A beautiful welsh setting, run by a family of affable and knowledgeable garden experts. The garden is full of strange surprises, crazy plants which the owner can tell you all about. Some of them are incredible. The garden gives out a sense of wilderness, as if all these carefully kept plants had actually grown there naturally. It's very well integrated with the breathtaking local landscape, and it definitely is the ideal complement to a trip to the nearby beach or a quick hike up the hills nearby.

i had the pleasure of visiting dyffryn fernant last summer and though it was a wet & rainy day in wales, the garden really was alive and in bloom! this is a magical haven of tranquility and adventure, a lovely place to explore, get lost in and marvel at the many varied plants and flowers that bloom along the hidden walkways and grassy verges. nestled amongst the flowers and shrubs are a number of lovely old cottages, the main one being home to the owners o the place and another two, i think it was two? being host cottages for those interested in spending a night in these idyllic settings. a must see for those looking for arty sculptures, gorgeous colours & smells, and a touch of the curious...:)

Gardens are quite difficult to find and rather disappointing compared to others in the nearby vicinity. The owner was friendly and encouraged us to see all parts of the garden but there was a general air of half heartedness about the whole place. If you have a particular interest in bog gardens this may be the right place for you but otherwise look elsewhere. No refreshmants of any sort available either.
