“Would love to go again!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2013

Only booked a 2-night midweek stay as wasn't sure I would enjoy this type of holiday. However, everything surpassed my expectations. My friend and I shared the signature room which was spacious, very clean and close to amenities such as the restaurant, theatre and the leisure complex. Found all the staff to be most charming and helpful. The standard and choice of food was amazing with choices for my diabetic friend. Plentiful choices at breakfast and dinner. The entertainment was also of the highest calibre. Had we stayed longer, there were many activities on offer and the setting in the beautiful coastal area of North Wales made this a most pleasurable experience.

Room Tip: The Signature rooms have a patio which a table and 2 chairs outside which are adjacent to those of o...

We have been coming to bodelwyddan castle for years dispite being in our 40s yes there is a lot of older people staying here on the breaks but we come for the fact it's kids free there is a playground in the hotels grounds but that belongs to the art gallery. Every time we have been the staff have been brilliant nothing is to much for them, I also come with the girls all of who are under 55, since we started coming here there are more and more younger people coming, the foods alway been lovely and the entertainment very good but we just come here to relax spend time as a couple those of you that have children of any age and still living at home will understand. If there's a problem the staff sort it out quickly for instance I'm having chemo and the bed was hard for me so when I told them at reception they sent extra pillows for me to sleep on. If you want a child free break in lovely surroundings a place where you can get involved with the activities if you want or if you don't relax in the bar or go swimming or to the gym and fab walks round the grounds this is the place for you, it's the only place where my husband is relaxed and you can't put a price on that

This was our first Warner break and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We booked a Signature Room, which was beautifully decorated, with plenty of storage space and a huge, comfortable bed.

The weather was not great, until the day we left, which meant we could not sit outside, or go for a walk after dinner but we took advantage of the indoor activities, or just sat reading our books in one of the indoor areas.

The thing that impressed us most was the friendliness and helpfulness of every one of the staff, from the moment we arrived to the moment that we left. The rooms were very comfortabel and always cleaned to a high standard. The restaurant was excellent, with very good meals and the waiting staff were superb, in spite of being very busy and run off their feet at various times. The entertainment team were great, under the guidance of Nick Cupit, who had only been there for a short time, but was already influencing the way things were going. He had a really good singing voice and his team were fantastic. The show on the last night - excerpts from the musicals - was superb.

The caring and friendly attitide of all the staff was amazing. Wherever we went, everybody asked us if we were enjoying ourselves and whether everything was ok for us. From the cleaners to the gardners, they were all really friendly and helpful.

The Castle and grounds are absolutely beautiful. Once the rain stopped, we walked around the gardens and really appreciated all the lovely plants. We went into the Museum (complimentary if you are staying in the Warners hotel) and took advantage of the morning walks and the History Walk through the grounds and the woodlands.

All in all, a very relaxing break, in very beautiful surroundings, with extremely good food and wonderful staff.l

Having spent short breaks in several of Warners hotels and resorts we thought we knew what to expect, but this exceeded our expectations. We were booked into a standard room, but it was better than any of the upgraded rooms in other locations. The facilities were as good as expected but improved by the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. The food was of an overall good standard, although the drinks were a little pricey. I even learnt how to make fresh pasta, taught by Peter the chef in a very informal way. The entertainment was up to Warner's usual standard, with a very good tribute band at the weekend - Showmaddymaddy (Showaddywaddy) one night, and Badness (Madness) the other. All included in the price. To get the best out of the location a car is needed, as only one coach trip, was laid on during our time there, and there is no convenient bus stop.
We will certainly be looking to go there again.

Room Tip: Princes Hall rooms are the most convenient for accessing other facilities.

Beautiful surroundings. Rooms comfortable as always & really clean. Staff very helpful & the wine tasting with Peter the chef was fun & very informative. couple of draw backs dressing table mirror was too high & i had to stand up to do my hair as I am short. We were on the raised dinning area the tables were too close together & I had trouble getting into & out of my seat & as always the tables are too small for 4 people & all the food crockery cutlery ect; that goes with a meal. I would definately go back there.

Bodelwyddan castle is an hotel and museum complex although it says it's a castle it was previously a large hall and an owner in the 18th century decided to make it look like a castle which made it very realistic. It is a brilliant hotel, food magnificent, rooms huge with wonderful beds and really comfortable. Set in spectacular grounds it is a wonderful place to stay.

Room Tip: They have standard and superior rooms, we stayed in a standard room was huge

Excellent location and accomodation, good food , very friendly and helpful staff. Well situated for exploring North Wales. Good evening entertainment - for us it was a Showaddywaddy tribute band and a Madness tribute band. Slight meltdown in kitchen on Sunday morning with no hot water for tea or just hot water but you could have coffee ! Never did understand that. Free tea and coffee after evening meal but if you want a cappucinno ( which is just coffee with frothy milk ) you have to pay £2.65 - never understood that one either. Worth a visit although it does attract the 'older visitor' - no children allowed!Don't bother with the VIP entertainment package!
