My partner and i are just back from a lovely four nite stay at the castle. Janette the owner is justifiably proud of her hotel and she is a lovely person.
We stayed in a standard turret room which was tastefully decorated and reasonably sized. The sea view was stunning, specially watching the sunsets. The lounge and dining areas are especially nice.
We were pre warned that the ensuite in our room was small, it was, but we found it adequate, probably the same size and layout you might get in a decent caravan.
The breakfasts were very good. We ate at the hotel for evening meal for our last nite and we were both disappointed, both our meals were off the a la carte menu and neither achieved the quality that we expected. After our meal janette told us she has recently set on a new chef ..........in our opinion he will have to try a bit harder or she may be advertising again.
We would like to praise the staff at the hotel specially janis and his sidekick they really try hard to make you feel special.
We recommend this hotel highly and would look forward to going there again.

A very enjoyable short break (birthday treat from daughter). A very interesting building. Turret room was very comfortable, ensuite a little small but totally adequate. The owners and staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and the views great. A small hotel providing a good quality service in peaceful surroundings. Would certainly stay again.

Have just returned from a weekend at Tyr Graig. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The staff got the balance of attentiveness and privacy just perfect and I think that is an art. We ate in the restaurant both nights and enjoyed the meal both times.

We stayed three nights at Ty'r Graig Castle from 29th April. Throughout our stay all the staff and the owners, Khalid & Janette, were extremely helpful and friendly.

The entrance hall and staircase is a splendid example of the Victorian Gothic style; the stained glass windows are quite exceptional. The lounge, dining room and conservatory bar/eating area were spacious, brightly decorated and very comfortable. We loved sitting in the conservatory for our breakfast and evening meal; the view is splendid and the sunsets over the Llyn peninsula fantastic. Our bedroom was a standard one, it was small but had French windows leading onto a wide balcony - wonderful views. The ensuite shower room was fine and, most importantly, the shower flow was good and the water hot. Tyr Graig was warm and very clean throughout.

The our cooked breakfast were good and our evening meals very good. We thoroughly enjoyed the welsh black beef steak, the lamb shank and poached salmon with a good selection of perfectly cooked vegetables (and very good chips with the steak!). The house wines were very good and reasonably priced.

Tyr Graig Castle is does not set out to be a 5 star hotel and it’s charges reflect the standard it offers. We found the website description and photos accurate; but it did not prepare us for the standard and friendliness of all aspects of the service.

Tyr Graig Castle is an ideal base from which to explore the Mawddach Estuary and Tremadog Bay and the beautiful and unspoilt valleys and hills between the two estuaries.

We will certainly stay at the Castle again.

I have never before had cause to write a poor review but there is always a first time and this is it.
Having arrived at the hotel our first impression was one of deceitful advertising. We felt that the photographs we saw of the hotel were quite missleading. The en-suite was very small and the whole place had a very dark and dank air about it. The evening meal was no better, we ordered the lamb chops and I could only describe these as portions of fat on a bone, we could not eat them and left. We were disgusted with the meal, very unhappy with the room and felt that the whole package was done on the cheap. Never again !

I recently celebrated my 65th Birthday and my wife surprised me with a party at Ty,r Graig.
I have to say i have never been to a hotel where the owners and staff have been as friendly and accommodating as Khalid & Janette we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The buffet was cooked to perfection by the chef Jackie who organised the whole menu and also made me a wonderful birthday cake. All this was organised in secret by my wife and her friend Linda and the staff at Ty,r Graig. I would recommend this gem of a hotel to anyone. The Coopster
