I have just returned from a brilliant three night stay at the guest house with my boyfriend for his birthday and would like to say a big thankyou to David and Heather for being such wonderful hosts. The room we were given boasted beautiful views and the room itself was also beautiful, as well as being clean and spacious. The couple were very helpful in particular when it came to suggesting activities for the days we spent there, such as the "Blue Lake" suggested by David, which proved quite a walk, but well worth it due to the beautiful location and views. As well as this, we were able to always start the day on a good note, being able to walk downstairs and enjoy a wonderful cooked Welsh breakfast whilst watching the birds and occasional squirrel tuck into some food out on the terrace. The five star rating could not be more deserved and I would greatly recommend this place.

It is always a privilege to help guests with a celebration so having you both stay here for your boyfriend's birthday was a real pleasure. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay so much and were delighted to be able to help you explore the area. The walk to the Blue Lake is one of the walks that can be done from the house without having to move your car but like many walks round here it helps to be pointed in the right direction!
Thank you for your generous comments and remember - you don't have to wait for another birthday before you come back again!

I have visited Barmouth several times but this was a first stay at Bryn Melyn. Staying for 2 nights whilst working, I enjoyed everything a guest could ask for - comfortable bed, lovely fresh towels and bedding and wifi available everywhere. There were spectacular views from my room which was very clean and comfortable, the most delicious locally sourced food and even a remarkable Welsh single malt whiskey to end the evening. Heather and David were the perfect hosts, welcoming and well informed. If anyone wanted the perfect template for a Guest House, this is it.
Next time I visit I shall bring my husband and make it a holiday.

We don't get many people staying with us on business, (not much business around these parts), but we were very happy to welcome you for two nights and delighted you enjoyed your stay so much. Thank you for taking the trouble to post a review and we look forward to welcoming you back again, either on alone or with your husband.

We stayed for two nights, the first time we've ever stayed in Barmouth, and we'll definitely be back here. Nestled up on a hill ten minutes walk from the town, with amazing views, plenty of parking space, clean modern uncluttered décor, a patio, a bar, wonderful breakfasts, friendly helpful hosts, you really couldn't ask for more. The free wifi internet worked fine, and despite warnings that the shower may be weak on the top fllor, it was fine as well. The bed was as comfortable as ours at home, and we didn't hear a sound at night, none of the rowdiness of the town centre or beachfront. It costs a little more than your standard B+B but it's absolutely 100% definitely worth it.

Room Tip: Room 10 no the second floor has the best view of the three we had, but each room is individual, chec...

It's always a great pleasure when people come to Barmouth for the first time and discover its attractions and we are always pleased to be part of their experience. We are delighted therefore that you enjoyed your stay, and especially pleased that you found our beds so comfortable. In response to guest comments over the last two years we have, this year, been rolling out a programme replacing all our guest room mattresses with memory foam. As I write this we are just about to order the final two mattresses so within a week or two every room in the house will have memory foam mattresses, hopefully helping all our guests enjoy a good night's sleep.

Hopefully having discovered Barmouth you will now want to come back and we look forward to welcoming you again.

We have been regular visitors to Barmouth over the years and stayed at a variety of Hotels, Bed and Breakfasts and Self-catering accommodation.
For the food, views and extra touches of comfort we experienced at Bryn Melyn over the week-end of 12th July 2013 we would like to say "Thankyou" to Heather and David.

One of the constant pleasures of running a guest house is the changing dynamics created by different groups of guests. The whole 'feel' of the house can change radically from one set of bookings to another. It was great during your stay to hear the sound of laughter and conversation from the bar - it was the sound of happiness and that, in essence, is our business.
It was a pleasure to welcome you all to stay with us and we are pleased we were able to make your stay comfortable and memorable.
Here's to the next time!

My wife and I spent just one night here on a jaunt to Wales and we could happily have stayed for more. The guest house is comfortable, clean and has beautiful views of the estuary. David and Heather are friendly and welcoming hosts. We enjoyed the Welsh breakfast which was prepared with locally sourced produce after we had sampled some of the Welsh alcoholic beverages in the comfortable bar the previous evening. Would definitely choose to stay here again if in the area and would consider booking for dinner next time.

One of the facilities that is regularly enjoyed by our guests is our bar and we have increasingly tired to specialise in Welsh drinks to bring an added "sense of place" to Bryn Melyn. We are pleased you enjoyed those you sampled during your short stay - you'll have to come back to try some others! You would be very welcome to book dinner with us as well. Thank you for taking the time to write a review and we look forward to seeing you again.

I am sat here in the bar lounge of the wonderful Bryn Melyn overhearing David talking to other guests about what to do in and around Barmouth and I am saddened by the fact that we have to leave this wonderful place today!

I and Louise have had some wonderful times this week as well as lots of laughs. I cannot recommend this place high enough. Heather and David I consider my friends from the moment we got picked up from the station to this our last day they have been the best hosts friendly and knowledgeable about Barmouth and the surrounding area.

I cannot wait to get back here and I would recommend this place to all our friends, family and anyone wanting to come on a holiday in Barmouth, the climb up panorama road is very well worth it.

Thank you Heather and David we will be back.

One of the great pleasures of our 4 years at Bryn Melyn has been seeing familiar faces returning to stay again, (and again). Not only does it tell us we are doing something right but it gives us a chance to get to know people more than just superficially and sometimes that leads to friendship as well. We were delighted to see you both again and that you had such a good time once more. Thank you for writing such a positive and encouraging review and we look forward to the next time you come to stay.
