“Just got back from Tal-y-Don what a fabulous stay”

We have just returned from Barmouth and had a fabulous stay at the Tal-y-Don, great staff, great food and a fabulous room, The bar staff get to know you and always remember your tipple, breakfast was fabulous, and wow what a Sunday lunch, tender beef and fabulous home roasted potatoes and real freak vegetables, so much better than the normal pub grub straight out of a freezer! For a trip to the seaside this little gem is a must ..

We were delighted to find this pub on the coastal path. Clean and spacious room. Great prices in bar for good food. Really great kippers in morning. Staff very helpful and kind. Thank you

I did not stay at the Hotel but ate there on four nights whilst staying in Barmouth. Food very good, nothing fancy but good tasting food !. Friendly service and good value. One thing I noted was a member of staff eating there one evening on her night off, so food must be good !.

On an anniversary weekend my husband and I stayed at the Tal Y Don. A handsome, centrally located hotel with great food and warm, friendly staff. The locals are great fun too. Only in Wales can you hear a small section of the local choir singing old Welsh hyms just for the fun of it. The room (9) was smart and chic with en suite, a comfortable bed and all mod cons. Despite being 'on top' of a public house we were not disturbed...the pub prices were good too! Highy recommend this gem!

Room Tip: Although room 9 is top floor, its' well worth the climb

Went to this b & b last october when i was staying over in Barmouth for a couple of days.
I thought the room was very dated as it felt like a grannys room. Shower was good to be fair and was clean. But i was at the front of the hotel and all i could hear all evening was everyone outside having beers been all loud and drunk so i just couldnt sleep. But for the price and location i suppose it was ok. Also check on parking too as it can be a nightmare finding parking.

On my way back home after a trip to Harlech, I stopped in Barmouth for a bit of lunch. Since the weather was nice (and I was not sure about the dog being accepted inside) I sat outside. I was told I could come and eat inside with the dog but I chose to stay out. I ordered at the bar and about 10 minutes later my scampi and chips arrived. It was really nice and quick.

Barmouth is a pleasant sea side resort easily accessable from the midlands through a very scenic route through the Welsh marches.

The Tal-Y-Don hotel is centrally located in the small town within a short walking distance from the beach. It provides unpretentious budget accommodation above an extremely popular pub/eatery.

There are no hotel guest parking facilities provided, but there are no street parking restrictions from 6pm-9am for overnight stays and a private carpark nearby provides overnight parking for £3.00 for improved security.

The menu offers good honest home made pub grub, and an excellent full breakfast is assured.
There are a limited number of ethnic restaurants within easy walking distance for guests with more adventurous palates.

The room was very clean and freshly serviced with a tea / coffee making facility provided, and the bed was very comfortable although the front facing rooms would benefit from inner secondary glazing as an added sound proofing measure.

The staff were polite and friendly, and we would highly recommend this hotel to guests who require a budget stop-over if touring North Wales, and are at ease within a very busy popular town centre pub environment.
