This was our fourth or so visit to Wales, especially Barmouth as we regularly camp on Shell Island. We went to the Anchor as it was a quiet night (Sunday night) and it didn't look too busy. The service was great, although there didn't seem to be an awful lot of 'evening meal/mail meals' available on the menu - it came accross to me as more of a place to grab a quick bit to eat as apposed to making a night of the place. All that said, the service was excellent, the place was spotless, mains arrived in good time too. The only down side is that I think the Steak is too expensive for what it is. All be it very nicely prepared, it could have been better. I also believe that the chips were frozen chips too - again, still nice, although you cannot beat real chips!
