“A choice in hotel which was very soon after regrettable”

For starters, I would like to say that apart from terrible service, dusty rooms which kept me up all night, and an uncomfortable air that didn't leave until we did, I would recommend the Arbour hotel. That is if you fancy staying at a hotel which doesn't seem to want you there. My girlfriend and I stayed there for 4 days and 3 nights which was cut short due to preference of an local b and b. The main attraction is the pool which was the size of a medium paddling pool. The food was average with the soup having a watery consistency that was only bearable with bread. I found the owners; the worst attribute of the hotel. They were rude and un welcoming and both constantly had a face that looked like a bulldog chewing a wasp. If looks could kill I believe Caron would be a mass murderer, my reason, we received one smile from her the whole time there and that was when we were leaving. I have no problems with the owners but they seem to need a few lessons in customer service as they clearly do not value them for their business, paying was another difficulty as there were no card facilities, questions are asked about why. When driving through barmouth, drive straight past the arbour hotel despite the attractive outlook and go to a far cheaper b and b

On arrival the couple were really rude and made you feel like a piece of manure or an animal. Steve especially looks Mexican which put me off the food, Karen just stared at us whilst we were sipping their ghastly soup or should I say watery vomit. My husband Nicholas was scared of Steve as he kept giving him funny looks. (Which made me feel threatened). Also I had to take a phonecall mid way through my meal from a family member and Steve came out and told me to come back in. Felt like pulling his sack off and throwing in the recycling bin. To conclude we didn't have a nice time there just not our cup of tea

we arrived at the hotel as part of a coach tour. steve "welcomed us" saying the hotel didn't like moaners". The rooms are clean but basic. Food was basic. The staff on the whole were miserable and steve was downright rude to us when one of our group changed their mind at a meal time "throwing the kitchen into chaos" or so he said.

just got home from a great weekend in barmouth,we stopped at the ARBOUR HOTEL which is situated directly on the promenade, the staff from management to cleaning staff are totally committed to making your stay the best can be, nothing is to much trouble, steve and karen are to be congratulated on the service they provide,we are looking forward to returning in the not to distant future.

Room Tip: the sea view rooms best but only because of the view.

Friendly welcome on arrival, clean enough, good position, great sea view from room, a little dated but aren't they all in Barmouth!
found it strange to have to pay in "cash in advance" with no card facilities.
Would i stop there again - yes, last minute job!

Room Tip: room 11 had a good view, take your own hair dryer and shampoo's etc as there aren't any unle...

On arrival we were grateful for a room, we were told dinner was available until 9.00 pm.We returned at 8.40 pm to be told the chef had "gone" and therefore no food available, consequently we had to walk into the town to find a restaurant. The room was very clean but there were no shower gel/hair dryer available which for an expensive night's accommodation (£95.00) I think this is poor. The room was extremely warm we tried to open windows only to find they had been painted/sealed/no window sash on the one, and impossible to open! The breakfast was the nicest point of the hotel, table with view out to sea. On departure we mentioned the windows not opening only to be told "yes they do"!!

Room Tip: Would suggest you may be better with a room on the front of the hotel as these appear to have new wi...

Just had a lovely 8 day Holiday in Barmouth staying at the Arbour Hotel, which could not be
faulted, clean, good food, excellent position, Karen and Steve the owners are great hosts,
friendly and obliging and nothing is to much trouble for them and that goes for the staff to.
Would not hesitate to go there again. Lilian/Edna
