We have been a number of times now, and we keep coming back.
We get excellent service all round.
Chantal and Toby (and Thunder and Storm) are very welcoming, the food is fabulous, the room is great (what a view) and the all round quality is excellent.
I sleep better here than at home.
Our rottie has a great time playing with the two resident labs.
We highly recommend Lawrenn to all our friends.
See you in 4 weeks.

My friend and I had room number 1, a lovely spacious twin room overlooking the bay.
Everything was very clean and comfortable and we particularly appreciated the bottles of water provided each day on our tray and the bathrobes hanging in the wardrobe.
Toby was very welcoming and helpful and Chantal cooked us some tasty food.
We were walking the Mawddach Way, staying at Lawrenny Lodge the night before and returning three days later at the end of the walk. The location of the Guest House is ideally suited to this walk which starts at the back of the town and finishes at the Barmouth end of the bridge over the estuary. We were particularly grateful that we were allowed to leave a car in the car park until our return, when we found that Toby had parked it ready to go and carried our luggage up to the bedroom. Much appreciated!

We have never been to Wales before, but the friend we were holidaying with, had. So we went on his advice. He found Lawrenny Lodge through a Barmouth brochure and we took pot luck!!And what luck we had....Chantal, Toby,Storm and Thunder made us feel instantly welcome.

We had evening meals every night and the food was first class(thanks Chantal) and the service matched it(thanks Toby! ) Storm made the best evening entertainment as well!

The rooms were excellent and the towels and bedding were spotless. Chantal even let me investigate the other rooms which were not occupied. They are all in individual and we cant wait to go back for Room Number 2 with the sea view and king sized bed!!
Our friend rebooked for next year, immediately, as he wanted to make sure the spacious single room would be available, and he is a man not easily pleased(his own admission) He had a packed lunch on the days he went out on his own and was really pleased with it.

The food and hospitality were spot on and we came away feeling as if we wanted to return to Barmouth and especially Lawrenny Lodge.

Toby..... we will leave it upto you whether we have brown or white bread !!!ha ha!!

PS We do not have pets but the hotel is excellent for either pet owners or non pet owners.

Steve,Margaret and Jim

We returned home from Lawrenny lodge yesterday after a 3 night stay.
My partner and myself planned a 3 night get away, for relaxation and countryside sightseeing. We were not dissapointed.
Everything about the place is lovely.
We were given a very warm and personal welcome by Chantal and introduce to Toby later on, on our way out.
The room (no2) was spot on,very clean, lovely iron work bed (very comfy), and fantastic sea views.
Toby served our breakfast every morning (while I presume that Chantal did the cooking).
He was very attentive and remembered our order from the day before without beng presumptiuous that it hadn't changed. The cooked breakfast was delicious, I have never had poached eggs as tasty as those before!
The atmosphere of the lodge was very warm and welcoming, even the other guests chatted to each other.
They have two impeciably behaved black labradors (thunder & storm) who are gorgous and very friendly, without being on top of you.
The location of the lodge is ideal for touring the area or just staying local if tht is what you want. There is also ample free private parking, which is a bonus on the sea front!
We toured up to Angelsea and further down the coast, along with exploring the local area.
I am so looking forward to next year when I can have a return visit. If you are planning a visit to Barmouth then please do look up the Lawrreny lodge you won't be dissapointed.

We have all just had a wonderful holiday at the Lawrenny Lodge and we were a difficult combination to please - my husband, myself, my mother and Smila the rescue greyhound. Toby and Chantal could not have done more to make our holiday perfect. They and their dogs gave us all a wonderful welcome and the rooms were beautiful - spacious and immaculately clean with fantastic views.
They catered for all the different needs including having milk ready for Smila's weetabix when we came back from our early morning walk and letting us sit in the shade of their own garden when it got too hot in the front of the hotel.
It was lovely to find a really dog friendly and people friendly hotel as we have been in other hotels which said they were dog friendly and found that this was not always the case.
My mother who is 87 and has travelled extensively around the world could not fault anything about it and is really looking forward to going again. She couldn't work out the controls to the shower and as soon as she mentioned it they were there and explained it to her in a way she could understand easily and clearly.
There was a little hideaway beach opposite the hotel which was peaceful and clean and meant we didn't have to walk far as it was really too hot for my mother and Smila.
The food was excellent and they made a special meal for my mother when she didn't fancy what was on the menue.
Thanks to Toby, Chantal, Storm and Thunder for a brilliant holiday.

We booked for two days for Easter sunday and monday, the weather was not the best we've had in fact it was cold, windy and rainy, Barmouth is not the best place to visit in these conditions, but hiding away in a corner opposite the toll bridge the little gem of a guest house which we booked into. We were greeted on our arrival by Toby who was very pleasant and very helpful. The twin room we had overlooked the estuary, quite stunning views, the room was very clean and comfortable the bathroom was impeccable. we sampled the a meal from the menu for evening meal, it was well cooked very tasty and hot, well done Chantell, breakfast was great to, you can be proud of yourselves. Toby does a great front of house, he's always on hand to to to help and serve.
unfortunately due to the weather we only stayed the one night, but we would definately stay again should we ever have the guts to go back to Barmouth. Thanks

This is the second time we have stayed at Lawrenny, the first time was with the previous owners. Whilst there was nothing wrong with Lawrenny on our first visit, the standard of Lawrenny has been raised since that time.
Plus points for us were delighful hosts, close but not too close to the town, and a car park.
Minus points - we had to come home!
