“PERFECT PLACE”
Reviewed May 2, 2011

Having stayed in Barmouth for the past 4 easter weekends,we have found a little gem.
On the sea front close to the town, good hearty food, great hospitality, and very clean.
Quiet but close enough to walk into town. Perfect. Will stay again and would recommend anyone to try.

We found Eric and Shelagh extremely friendly and welcoming, especially to our five year old daughter Megan. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds and the breakfast was excellent. Having had bad experiences previously I vowed never to stay in a B&B again, however this B&B has changed my mind and I hope that other B&B's can live up to my experience at Wavecrest .

On arrival the owners showed me available rooms and worked out an outstanding deal. They were very welcoming to my family and I.
The accomodation was first rate and the breakfasts were first class. The owner even purchased some green tea especially for me.
Highly recommended....

My wife rang Wavecrest to find a room as we drove to Wales on a last minute impulse and Eric couldn't have been more helpful, leaving a key out for our arrival.
Every detail in this B&B has been looked after. The bed had cotton sheets (nylon can often dampen the experience), and the place looks loved.
In the morning Eric and Shelagh were warm and friendly, and the breakfast wonderful. And all this for a very good price!! There is something very pleasant about Barmouth too. Now if only we could sort out the weather !!

We have been returning to the Wavecrest for some years now, and recommend the hotel to friends and relations. The proprietors, Shelagh and Eric Jarman, offer service that is friendly, hospitable, with nothing too much trouble. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean, the furniture antique, with a TV and WiFi, and tea and coffee. The breakfasts are colossal, with all the usual ingredients, but fresh, local and often organic. Many of the hotel guests are regulars recognising the friendly, personal and kind qualities of the owners. Eric and Shelagh are also very knowledgeable about the local area and can recommend walks and activities. Furthermore, if you have children that like their trains, or you are a steam enthusiast yourself, this is a good base, as there are loads of steam trains and lines quite close. The surrounding area is dramatic and beautiful and discovering it by rail is a good way to see it. Like other regular guests, we will be back in the future.

Our group of 9 stayed at the Wavecrest for 6 nights in June and we didn't want to leave. Eric & Shelagh were the perfect hosts. It had lovely rooms & the best breakfasts. Barmouth is a beautiful town and the Wavecrest is the perfect place to explore it from.
