Had a great stay with my husband. The place was very warm! Very clean and well equipped! The scenery is breath taking. The animals are adorable. So many things to explore! Everything was so peaceful and quiet away from all the hussle bussle. Loved every second of it will deff come again!
Very peaceful in beautiful surroundings with a really nice atmosphere. Nice modern decor inside. Would definitely recommend!
Very tranquil environment , lovely animals too.
Cottage was nice but would benefit from wood burning stove for coziness .
We have just returned from a very comfortable, relaxing and cosy stay at the Cornflower Cottage which is one of the 8 cottages on the 5 acres of land belonging to Gorslwyd Farm.
We had a lovely friendly welcome from the owners, who were very thoughtful, even putting a pint of milk in our fridge so we could make a brew on arrival.
The cottage itself is perfect wilh everything you need, it has afternoon sun, which really warms the two bedrooms up. The bathroom, kitchen and lounge is downstairs and two bedrooms are upstairs.
The bathroom has a towel heater, fan, loo, sink and shower over the bath. The water was very hot at all times and the shower was really powerful.
The kitchen has kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge with small freezer at top and also contains all the pots/pans/cutlery/mugs and glasses you need. there was a bottle of washing up liquid, cleaning cloth and sponge also teatowel and oven gloves were provided.
The lounge has two, two seater sofas, tv, radio, nest of tables and a unit with infomation on the farm and area.
Just outside the door there is a picnic table on a very private yard.
The bedrooms are light/ airy and both have wardrobes, mirrors, sets of drawers, lamps and a main light. We found the double bed very soft but that is all a matter of preference.
The 5 acres of land has plenty to explore, there are alpacas, dogs, cats, ducks, doves, hens, and an abundance of wild life to watch.
There is a small Chapel, beautiful gardens, a wooden walk way over the streams and ponds, a BBQ area, lots of places to sit and ponder, a dog exercing field, a laundry room,a wet room with loo, a summer house, a kids play room, football posts in another field and of course there is the secret garden.
The 8 cottages are different sizes and some are all on one level.
There was internet wifi but my husband said that it went off sometimes but we dont know if his phone was the problem or the network!
Be aware the sat nav we had to find this property took us only half way down the private lane to this complex. There are two properties on the same lane, you will find Gorslwd Farm at the very end of this lane where you pick up your keys.
There is a cafe 2mins up the road by car ,which does a lovely big breakfast its called the Emlyn cafe. When you come to the main crossroad, turn right.
There is a pub called the Brynhoffnant Inn which does a really good mixed grill ( Ignore the 1 star rating, its rubbish). This is about 5 mins in the same direction as the cafe.
We would not recommend the pub at the the crossroads for food as they served us a some black, cold chips with our meal and the people on the next table had bones in the chicken dish also they forgot to serve part of their meal, they had to ask for it. There were only 3 couples in the whole building!
