Nice low-key place to go in a great location. Been there a few times and always enjoy. Kids enjoyed it too.

“Geat location on the Teifi”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

A good cafe with a wonderful location in the one of the wharehouses by the old bridge. The view lets you see the restored Lloyd's Wharf area and will improve further once the castle is put to rights. Proper coffee. Loads of toys for the boys in the shop, but be careful with that axe, Eugene.

“Funky and good”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

Just over the bridge from the town, this is a relaxed and friendly place for a snack or lunch. Seating is long communal tables plus some outside tables under cover (this IS Wales). Food is excellent, staff are friendly and interested, there is free wifi and the place has a good feeling. There is a small Outdoors shop on the premises, and riverside events (mostly family orientated) take place during the season. A smiley place, support it!

“Clever on marketing, poor on the basics”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

I've been meaning to try Fforest Cafe for a while and finally got around to crossing the bridge to give it a try. And I'm not sure it's worth the walk.
Coffee average and a woodlander's lunch a little less so. The plate of cheese, bread and salad set me back £7. Another reviewer has chided those that have picked up on the prices saying that "you have to look past that" as the produce is either home-grown or sourced locally, but I'm pretty sure none of what was on my plate was home-grown. And 'local produce' shouldn't give carte blanche for a rip-off.
Whatever the provenence, it was all tasteless because it had come straight out of an over-cold fridge. Bread not bad, but the butter permafrosted.
The service was a bit chilly too, maybe because it's the end of the season. Altogether there seems to be a bit of a disappointing gap between presentation and delivery.

“I just love this cafe : )”
Reviewed September 2, 2012

This little river-side cafe is exactly what I like about Pembrokeshire. If you like the out-door life, then this little gem is for you. A healthy choice of meals and soups to fill you up after a hard day out in gorgeous Pembs. There's a shop next to the cafe in the same building which sells good quality camping/walking gear etc. This place is situated on the banks of the river Teifi and a few minutes walk from Cardigan's quaint market town. The rustic/out-door decor really adds to the atmostphere - go there and you'll see what I 'm on about !
