We stayed in room 21 which was very comfortable. King size bed from which there is a fabulous panoramic view of the bay. Enjoyed sitting in the window looking at the sea but didn't spot any dolphins. Tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer available. Large bathroom with freestanding bath with separate walk in shower - good pressure with large overhead shower as well as handheld showerpiece. If I was being picky I think there should be bubble bath or bath crystals for use with the bath as well as hooks on the back of the bathroom door and a shelf - there was nowhere really to put a washbag.
We stayed dbb. Dinner menu varied, food very tasty and plentiful - make sure you've worked up a good appetite! Breakfast good, choice of cereals, fruit, yummy local farm yoghurt and cooked breakfast made to order.
There is a small gym with sauna and jacuzzi. Used the jacuzzi but sauna not working during our stay.
Overall, very pleasant hotel in wonderful setting.

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking the sea.

I used to stay in this hotel for many years whilst reping the area. Moved companies so did cover the area. Have started covering the area again so booked in, its just got better with the extension to the bar area, the upgrades on the hotel rooms. I stayed in a room with a sea view (no extra charge) i had a large double bed, big bathroom with large bath & walk in shower. In the bay window over looking the sea i had two arm chairs & a table so i could do my paper look out to sea. The food was first class & i will be staying again & again & again.

We didn't stay at this hotel. We were actually staying at the neighbouring hotel, The Cliff Hotel, in Gwbert. But we had read some good reviews about the food at the Gwbert Hotel and their Flat Rock bistro, so we decided to eat there rather than at The Cliff Hotel. We had a very acceptable meal at The Flat Rock - reasonably priced, varied menu, excellent staff and prompt service. The only problem was trying to find our way in!! The entrance to the hotel is kind of at the rear of the property - after walking round the outside of The Flat Rock bistro several times in search of a way in, we eventually knocked on the side door and a waitress gave us directions! Can't comment on the rooms or anything else at this hotel - but we enjoyed our meal at The Flat Rock and it was made all the better by the excellent staff - it was a pleasure to find staff who actually know how to serve customers in a restaurant, for once! :)

The Gwbert hotel, (goo-bert) is nicely situated on the cliffs above the mouth of the river Teifi and Cardigan bay, along which is the footpath for the Pembrokeshire Walk. Our room no.21 was a new room top floor, and had the advantage of either lying in bed looking out over the water, or we could sit in the bay window in club chairs watching the world go by!!!this was in my opinion a 3star+ room witha superb modern bathroom, our breakfasts were large and lovely especially one morning choosing haddock and poached egg, just beware the restaurant floor can be slippery! the one aspect of concern is that the best rooms overlook the bay all of which are above the restaurant and bar which has a large decked area, so can be noisy!

Room Tip: does have gym and sauna which were not seen, our room was no21, going b&b does not guarantee a ta...

The website for this hotel does not claim any stars but a member of staff stated that it has three. I would say it is worth at least two stars because the staff are very helpful and attentive, the place is generally clean although our room had black mould below a window. The food is mostly very good.
The website shows a photo of the hotel with the name in very large letters on the front. There is no evidence of this on arrival and it is posible to drive past without knowing you have arrived. The name of the restaurant- flat rock is more prominent and adds to the belief you have not found the hotel but never mind. We arrived at our room via a lift which groaned loudly at times and came to a halt with a thump. The room was very small for a double and the shower and toilet appeared to have been installed at different times. There was insufficient space to sit on the latter because the shower left no space for your legs even if you opened the shower door to stick one leg inside. The solution is to sit side saddle but this puts the toilet roll behind you and you need to be a contortionist to use it but never mind.
The one feature which really lets this hotel down is the amount of noise you can hear from next door. Even normal conversation is quite intrusive. We could put up with the minor failings I have detailed but if your sleep is disturbed, value for money instantly plummets. What a pity, the location is so good above an estuary which has had very little development probably in the last two hundred years. Don't let this review put you off. There may be no one in the room next door when you visit.

Room Tip: Go for a suite. We tried but they had all gone.

Stayed here for two nights in early October and was extremely happy with the facilities provided by this charming small hotel. The staff are helpful and attentive, the food is excellent and the rooms clean, modern and comfortable. The position, set above the beach, provides wonderful views from the bar/bistro area and bedrooms at the front and side of the hotel (make sure you get one). Will most definitely be booking again when in the area.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the bay area, a little more expensive but well worth it.

You can't fault the location, the Gwbert is lucky here. Everyone working there is friendly and helpful. We had a few snags in that the twin we'd booked was made up as a double but that was very quickly rectified. Breakfast on our first morning was very slow, unacceptably so but they had problems with a chef and apologised sincerely, the next day it was much better and the smoked haddock portion was just huge! It was tasty too. The coffee is excellent at breakfast and choice is standard but well presented.
Restaurant provided us a very nice dinner our second night.
Our room was a small / medium, comfortable double / twin size with a compact shower-room. Had everything you needed and a great view! Free wi-fi in rooms and a "gym" (few CV machines), sauna and jacuzzi for guests use which we did and were really pleased with this added extra.
Definitely recommended.
