We spent time on Skye with Graham and Madeline this April and it was a wonderful visit. We would recommend you stay there should you be in that part of the world. It is remote enough to feel that you can escape from everything, but Portree is just 30 minutes away and Dunvegan closer.
We ate at the Stein which was a nice traditional pub with a friendly atmosphere.

We've stayed with Madeline & Graham before and returned to Lorgill for a night this November. All the reviews below tell the same story and so nothing new to add, but just felt we needed to give an excellent rating! Madeline & Graham run the perfect B&B - everything you could want for is available in the rooms, the location on Waternish which is surely the most beautiful part of Skye, is second to none and they are so warm and welcoming, so full of chat and stories and so genuinely glad to see you that you come away feeling well fed, well rested and thoroughly well looked after. We love getting the local news from Madeline and Graham and it always makes us hanker to be part of the community ourselves - maybe one day!

I have to first admit that I am not a huge fan of B n Bs as I always feel Uncomfortable "sharing" someone else's home. However on visiting Lorgill I am converted. Madeline and Graham were fantastic hosts, very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in a large double with a large ensuite and dressing area. It's not "boutique chic" and it's not trying to be (thank goodness). It's a very comfortable room and the owners have thought of everything to make your stay more pleasant including a huge array of teas and coffees. Breakfast choices are numerous and breakfast is served whenever you want it - once again showing Madeline and Graham's commitment to hospitality excellence. They even picked us up from a local restaurant and brought us home during a blustery storm. Which goes way beyond good hospitality. I cannot recommend this place highly enough for a real welcome, comfortable and friendly stay.

The best B&B we've stayed at in all the UK! Madeline and Graham are wonderful hosts: welcoming, generous, friendly and full of great advice about what to do on Skye. We felt like family by the time we left and we wished we had time to stay longer than just the 2 nights. I can't recommend Lorgill enough; make it your base on the Isle of Skye and you will have the time of your life. We hope to be back soon!

Fantastic location, stayed for 3 nights- its all been said on here before, you will arrive as guests and leave as friends. Madeline and Graham are just excellent hosts- we were greeted at the door and offered a very large glass of wine and a beer!! We stayed in the large double room upstairs with ensuite which was lovely and roomy and had everything including wine glasses and a corkscrew in it!! Excellent selection of maps, books walking guides and DVD's all available to borrow. Fantastic view of the bay and across to the outer hebrides from the window
Madeline and Graham are able to offer excellent advice on walks and what to do etc but are not imposing and dip in and out as per your requirements
Fresh milk in fridge outside room and flowers in the bedroom- Eggs at breakfast in their kitchen (which you can have anytime!!) come from the "girls" behind the house on the croft and are beautifull in both colour and taste!!
Walk down to the Stein inn for evening meal but do book ahead and try out the adjacent lochbay sea food resturant for fantastic fayre.
stay here and you wont better it!!

Room Tip: Ask for the double room upstairs with the ensuite

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights during a very and windy May, and wished we could stay for a week! Lorgill is quite simply the best bed and breakfast we have stayed in.
The hospitality was fantastic, we felt at home straight away. Madeline and Graham are lovely, interesting, funny people. We very much enjoyed chatting to them especially over breakfast. They even invited us into their living room one evening to share a 'dram' and a few stories!
The room itself was fantastic - absolutely huge consisting of double bed, sitting area with TV, separate dressing area/room and a large shower room, with beautiful views over Waternish Bay. The choice of teas and coffees available in the room is huge hence a new found love for Twinings Moment of Calm teas!
The breakfast was lovely, the bacon is the smokiest bacon we have tasted and the sausages were cooked to perfection! The local seafood restaurant - Lochbay serves wonderful food. The Stein Inn is also nice for a meal or a few drinks, both approx 10 mins walk away.
Waternish Bay is a beautiful serene location. We can't wait to return to the Isle of Skye and would love to stay at Lorgill once again!

i went with my partner for a quiet getaway and to see some of skye. We had quiet and privacy here but still knew the owners graham and madeliene were there to help whenever we wanted, there for a conversation but never imposing. They made us feel very welcome and gave us some great recommendations, showed us some hidden gems and helped us, lending us maps etc. It was very relaxed, breakfast when you wanted and plenty of it! The room was spacious, warm and very clean with lovely views from our window. had a very nice time.
