Lovely quiet village off the beaten track with stunning views from the cottage. Cottage had every amenity and Kayleigh was a very kind host offering us a free nights accommodation ( for our inconvenience ... we weren't worried) as a locksmith had to attend. Will certainly return next time in the Hebrides!
The house is very nice, suitable for 7, 1 child sleeping on the sofa in the living room. The views are marvellous , it is very quiet. The house gets warm very quickly, the kitchen is well equipped. It was good to have good internet access as the mobile phones did not work.
The only disadvantage is, that it is always quite a drive wherever you want to go.
Lewis and Harris are amazing islands with really stunning beaches, we might come back one day.
We spent a week here in June in which we were very pleased with the accommodation. Lovely open planned living room, kitchen and dinning room. Plenty of space for the 6 of us and the dog. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. Area although out of the way (but really everywhere on the island is compared to home) was quiet and the neighbours were lovely. I will say though if you're are visiting with your dog please make sure you are aware of the working collies as we had one incident where we had our dog on the leash walking him in the area where 2 of the collies attempted to attack him. The farmer straight away shouted on them in which the ran back to the farmer but my partner was quite shaken up. The accommodation we were extremely happy with and very grateful to Kayleigh for coming on Sunday to drop off an extra duvet and bedding. Kayleigh was wonderful and such a pleasure to deal with and made everything very simple and easy. I will say that we did find the beds uncomfortable but I am known as the princess and the pea as I'm very particular with my beds so I'm sure others may be ok with them. Other than that our stay was fantastic and would definitely be back. Thank you Kayleigh x
An excellent base from which to introduce our Canadian relatives to these beautiful Islands and a tranquil place to return to at the end of our busy days. Our Spaniel was delighted with the views of the bunnies from the deck.
The cottage is well equipped, with very good kitchen facilities and it was cosy on the chilly early mornings.
Our only request would be better bedside lighting, there was none in one of the rooms, and the kitchen and bathroom downlighters are in need of attention.....not just replacement bulbs.
Would be delighted to return to this property in the future.
The location quite and peaceful just what we wanted. The cottage was spacious and very cosy after a day at the beach, The scenery from the veranda was beautiful, it was lovely to sit out and enjoy the view. We would definitely stay again, we had a lovely time.
Isle of Lewis is amazing and this holiday home is in a great location. Unfortunately, the cottage was disappointing. There are 3 sofas in the lounge and 2 of them cannot be used as they are missing the cushions at the back. There were lots of stains and marks on the walls, doors, bedroom carpets, bath mats, etc. The carpet in the hallway looks like it needs replacing and the cream curtains in the front bedroom were filthy with either dust or dog hair. The laminate floor in the lounge was clean. Having sky and wifi was great. The mattresses were not comfy at all. Out of the 3 bedrooms only 1 had a chest of draws to store clothes so would have found living out of a suitcase frustrating if staying for more than a few days. Overall a very disappointing experience which is a shame as this place could be amazing. I would not recommend this holiday home.
