This is a very beautiful house and a real pleasure to stay in for our week. The sitting room has a great fireplace and views out to the sea and the Cuillens of Skye. Full wifi and Sky TV available. There is a separate quiet sitting room with a baby grand piano and library of books.
The bathrooms are great and the kitchen is very well equipped.
There is also an otter in the bay at the bottom of the garden who is elusive but a delight to watch when he or she comes to the shore.
This house pleased the whole extended family group -from the teenagers to the 80 year olds and those in between !!.There was Wi-Fi and sky movies and there was peaceful space to read books, play games and mainly look out at the spectacular view- no matter what the weather it was a perfect base. Everything was there from picnic rugs and flasks to binoculars, buckets and spades, board games, masses of books etc. . Beautiful rooms ,plenty of towels....... everything you could think of really......It's situation was off the beaten track with its own beach which was heaven...........down side though near Tarbert the oldies couldn't have walked up that hill.........Scalpay nearest decent community shop, (see Finders Keepers cool recycled beach finds !!)not much in Tarbert so we were glad we brought groceries from Skye with us.........to save the drive to Stornoway ........we did see Tesco delivery vans but they wouldn't deliver to us ??Loved Skoon art café , Temple Café Northton and walk along the beach there was stunning .also Luskentyre......had a couple of great days there playing football and swimming !!A totally relaxing holiday and the house really made us feel at home !!
