“Excellent accommodation”
Reviewed 3 weeks ago for a stay in May 2018

Very good facilities throughout the house. We were lucky with the weather apart from the first few days. Good walking territory but if you're getting on like we are 70 plus avoid the walk to the lighthouse. It's very boggy and up and down. North Harbour Bistro is a must. Lovely view fro lounge.

“Very comfortable”
Reviewed September 20, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

Good, well equiped accommodation. Views from front windows fantastic. A visit to Bistro in the village is a must with the most fantastic fish. The community shop has closed down so make sure you buy milk, etc before arriving.

“Outstanding holiday stay”
Reviewed August 27, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Scalpay is an easy 15 min drive from Tarbert, the house has a beautiful view of the sea and sheltered rocky bay which is right across the road. The local shop and combined bistro are about a 2 min walk. The bistro is excellent, cash or cheque only. Wonderful seafood at very reasonable prices, should book a few days in advance. Bannatyne house is outstanding: clean, modern, very well equipped and tastefully furnished. I can't think of any way our stay could have been improved. Plenty of interesting walks right from the front door.

“Fantastic Family Holiday”
Reviewed July 26, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

A beautiful, very clean house with everything we needed and more! The house was so well equipped and spotlessly clean, with plenty of room for 6 adults and a baby - we were delighted with it. The owners were so accommodating and helpful with the booking as well. Cannot recommend this house highly enough.

“Beautiful ”
Reviewed April 16, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

A fantastic house which more than met our expectations. It's a real home from home. Everything you could hope to find in a holiday house is provided..and then some.
Our kids loved the Wii and the sheep wandering about in front of the house!
The welcome pack was definitely the best we've ever received, a lovely touch.

Having never been to Harris before, we weren't really sure what to expect....my mum and I spent five nights in Bannatyne house and it exceeded all expectations. Scalpay was just a short drive from tarbert, a quiet, wee peaceful place. The house itself was fabulous......I assume recently renovated and the quality and attention to detail .....(right down to the Harris gin) was perfect! The weather was mixed but to be honest we didn't mind afternoons in the house as it was just so cosy with a fabulous view form the living room overlooking a wee harbour through a lovely big window. Thank you Fiona for making our visit so special....we will definitely be back!
