“....or The Fishermen's Cottage!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

Loch Seaforth House B&B was already fully booked for the days we planned to stay on Harris, though our lovely host Irene offert the us to stay at "The Fishermen's Cottage".
The cottage is located next door to the B&B at Loch Seaforth on the Ilse of Harris with amazing views from the kitchen and living room to the sea.
We had a warm welcome from Irene and her family.
The house itself is beautiful, well equipped, lovely decorated and maintained, a perfect place to stay. The ferry terminal is only a 20 minutes drive away and the location on the Island is ideal to discover both Harris in the South and Lewis up North.
Our next stay on Harris will be definetly at The Fishermen's Cottage.

A charming place just at the inner end of Loch Seaforth, on the border between Lewis and North Harris, with the most wonderful view from the bedroom window that I have ever had. And a very friendly welcome and good breakfast at this small family-run B&B by Irene Morrisson, who also can give you a good dinner if you do not travel by car, or if you want to spend the day walking on the nearby trails among the hills. This place is also easily accessible by the local bus, the driver will drop you at the gate. Very fresh, comfortable and spacious room and bathroom, lots of maps and walking guides to borrow, and my hosts told me about the area, so I got to know a little more about Harris and life in the islands.

Mr and Mrs Morrison are kind and friendly hosts. They have opened a family room as a bed and breakfast. The room is extremely comfortable, with an en suite bathroom. The view from the bedroom window down Loch Seaforth is stunningly beautiful. Excellent breakfast.
I enjoyed learning about life on the Isle of Harris.

Very well situated between Stornaway and Harris, this small but exceptionally friendly B and B comes very highly recommended. Lovely spacious room, with super en suite bathroom and great views over Loch Seaforth. !5 mins to Tarbert with good restaurant.
Harris is one of the most stunning Hebridean Islands. Lovely wildlife, great culture, real sense of being somewhere really special.

About a 20 minute scenic drive from Tarbert this B and B with self catering accommodation (Sky TV) next door was for us the ideal spot for exploring both North and South.
We did it by car for a couple of days but it also seemed popular with cyclists and walkers.
The interiors are spotless and creatively decorated/furnished to a high standard with loads of space.
Nothing is too much trouble for Irene who welcomed us with a tray of tea with home made cakes - nice touch.I stupidly left my glasses on checkout but she dashed to meet us at the Tarbert ferry to hand them to me !
We stayed Band B (wide choice of menu and lovingly cooked) but would happily go self catering in the future.
Every thing has been said about the warmth and friendliness of the hosts and the peaceful setting is a real picture.
Impossible to fault really - thanks Irene.

... while cycling from Barra to Lewis in August 2011 we were mostly camping. The weather was as you'd expect, and one evening we were near Loch Seaforth, it was getting dark, we were tired and hungry and couldn't find anywhere that was not completely soggy to pitch our tent. We decided to give up and try and find somewhere dry, preferably with a roof, to spend the night. Unfortunately, this B&B was full, but the hosts invited us to stay in what was effectively their yard, on a relatively less soggy patch of grass instead, were lovely, friendly and helpful, and sent us off with water and directions in the morning. I'm sure we would have enjoyed staying there, in fact I have every intention to come back one day and book a night or three, I was so impressed with their kindness.
