“Unique and wonderful house/ location!”

The website pictures led us to believe that Ardmair Bay House was everything we were hoping for. The truth is that our vacation was so much better than what we had expected because of the house and its unique location.
The house offers generous accommodation for eight people and plenty of space to spend time together or apart. The main reason is that the spacious kitchen, living room and game room are all separated from each other giving the possibility for one to find any peace and quite when necessary. The house is very luxurious with bathrobes and slippers available for each guest while in the kitchen there is an entire service of Highland Stoneware pottery. What we all rated highly was the quality of the beds: top mattresses and very soft cotton bedsheets. The views over the Ardmair Bay are to die for no matter which time of the day, but especially stunning at sunrise and sunset. The hot tub was used most days come rain or shine!
The house is ideally located for 1-day excursions in the area (Applecross, Torridon, Inverewe Gardens, Gairloch beaches, Lochinver, the Old Man of Stoer, Drumbeg and its rugged coast, the Summer Isles, the Rogie Falls and its salmon ladders, and many more. More locally, Knockan Crag is really worth a visit and a walk around as well as the Rhue Art Gallery. Based in Ullapool, the Seascape Expedition company offers amazing trips for close encounters with seals and seabirds. Slightly further South, the Corriesshalloch Gorge is not for the faint hearted.
Food wise, with prior booking, the local fisherman (phone number available in the house) is more than happy to bring you bags of fresh langoustines (some of them still alive) and squat lobster tails (a.k.a ‘spinies' locally) with their very delicate and sweet taste. A real gem in the area is the Seafood Shack in Ullapool with some exquisite but simple dishes: Tempura Haddock Wrap with Salad, Lemon Mayo and Pesto; Cullen Skink; Spiney Popcorns; King Scallops on a bed of Couscous, to name but a few. You just cannot go wrong. The Walled Garden in Applecross, Peet’s restaurant and the Pie Shop in Lochinver are also really worth a stop.
Although the weather could have been better, the contrast of light, clouds and landscape made for unforgettable views and scenery which required many, many stops along the way (plan sufficient time for stops).
Our party of 7 hold vivid and unique memories of our 1 week stay at Ardmair Bay House. We recommend it very highly!!

“Fantastic House in a Beautiful Location”

We stayed in this lovely house for a week from the 9th of July and we really loved it. The house is very modern and very big and equipped with everything you could need whilst on a self-catering holiday. On arrival we found it immaculately clean, kudos to whoever does that, and some lovely goodies including a bottle of wine, fresh flowers, local eggs and smoked salmon! There are other lovely touches as well including white fluffy robes and slippers and a stonking big hot tub outside overlooking the bay.

As the house was so luxurious and relaxing we did spend a lot of time there but every now and again we ventured out to view the jaw-dropping scenery in the area. It really is a lovely part of the UK.

I definitely would recommend Ardmair Bay House to anyone looking for holiday accommodation in the Ullapool area.

“Absolute luxury with views to take your breath away”
Reviewed February 17, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We stayed at Ardmair Bay House last week and it was by far the most relaxing and luxurious break we have ever had. From the moment we walked in the door I felt relaxed and at home, when it came to leaving I was sad to go.

The house is so well laid out and the decor is modern but still very cosy, and done to a very high standard. Downstairs there is a large kitchen with centre island and large dining table and chairs. All mod cons are provided, as is a lovely welcoming bottle of wine from the owners on arrival :) There is also a utility room with washing machine and other household necessities. The living room is huge with a very comfy sofa, wood burner for added cosiness and, if you want it, Sky TV. There is a separate games room with Wii, MP3 and DVD player, as well as jigsaw puzzles and games - it was great to see the kids put down their ipads and start piecing together jigsaws!

The bedrooms are again beautifully decorated and spacious, with plenty storage. The main bedroom has the most amazing floor to ceiling window with a view to make you want to stay forever! There is a glass-railed balcony with seats for soaking up the view, and the sun if it's shining! The other two upstairs bedrooms are just us luxurious, with an additional one downstairs. All have plenty towels, dressing gowns and toiletries. The bathrooms are all spacious and stunning, decorated to such a high specification.

Outside on the patio area was the hot tub; it was very clean and well-maintained and an absolute treat for both adults and kids. We were in it both daytime and nightime...the underwater lights made it even more fun at night. There is plenty seating on the patio and in the warmer months it would most definitely be a lovely place to sit in the evenings.

The area is wonderful, the scenery is stunning and you couldn't find a better property to spend your break. Plenty walks in the area and also quite a few Geocaches nearby for those who enjoy this activity. Highly recommended by adults and kids alike!!!

“Perfect”
Reviewed February 1, 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Hand on heart I can't find a single thing to to say about Ardmair Bay House other than *wow*. Everything we could possibly have wanted was supplied, including dressing gowns and slippers! The wood burning stove was a great success on an evening after a dip in the hot tub. The bedrooms were very welcoming and the bathrooms inviting, all of which are individually designed to a very high standard. On our visits to local towns (Ullapool and Lockinver) we were met with friendly locals and great food. We were very fortunate that the weather was so mild in January that we were able to sit on the patio in the mornings and take in the fabulous views of the Coigach mountains. This a great base for walkers or more adventurous climbers, but also a wonderful place to relax and chill with family and friends. We will definitely be returning!

“Truly Amazing”
Reviewed January 12, 2016 for a stay in December 2015

We travelled to Ardmair Bay House staying for New year. The owners responded to our booking within minutes. The house itself is amazing the owners have thought of everything and is equipped with everything you can think of. Every room is immaculate and perfectly designed and furnished. We used the hot tub even though it was below zero outside and the bathrobes and slippers which are provided for every guest were great. The views from the house are the best ive ever seen and you'll never get tired of looking at them. The log burner kept the living room lovely and cosy on the winter nights. For anyone that has problems with stairs there is also a bedroom and bathroom downstairs which would be ideal. The town is only 3km away where you'll find a Tesco and bars and restaurants. Don't hesitate in booking this house it is truly amazing and so peaceful the ideal place to relax surrounded by snow topped mountains.
