Riverside Guest House

Certificate of Excellence

This guest house is ideal, in a great location, quiet but close enough to walk into town. Charlie & his team are very friendly & make it a pleasure. Ullapool & the surrounding area is well worth a visit & Riverside Guesthouse will make a great base.

The Riverside, given the number of rooms, is more like a small hotel than a B & B. At the time of reservation, the booking process was very prompt and easy. The Riverside is well located, being near to the main high street, pubs and restaurants, and also within easy reach of a supermarket. Our room was a good size, although the decor possibly needs a little updating. It was very clean. We also got some good ideas for drives around the area, and the breakfasts were plentiful. In comparison to other B & Bs on the west coast of Scotland, it was a good price.

However as on both mornings there was insufficient hot water for a shower, and on our first morning my shower was cold. We raised a query about whether there was a problem, and we were told to wait 10 minutes as there were a number of rooms. Whilst that did help a little, a hot shower is a basic requirement for me, and so the Riverside gets a lower rating. I may have just been unlucky on those particular days.

my friend and I travelled to ullapool for a wedding and were very fortunate to have found the riverside. run by charlie and his wife linda,it was centrally located, clean and well kept, they served a lovely hot breakfast each morning and were a great wealth of information re: ullapool and how to get around. They were most accomodating with all our requests. Would definitly reccomend this establishment and would certainly return myself. Sharon Bj.

Room Tip: We had the 2 singles...although small they were comfortable and had their own ensuite

we stayed at this B&B last week for one night while travelling around the coastline of scotland
we found that the accomodation was excellant value for money, comfortable, and spotless and the
breakfast was first class,
Nothing was too much trouble, and we welcomed his views regarding further travel plans
we would certainly recommend this hotel, and would have no hesitation in returning in the future.

A clean and tidy guest house, fair sized ensuite room, quiet spot and only a couple of hundred yards from the centre of town. Little or no passing traffic.

Over all decor quite dated but well maintained showing little sign of wear and tear. The only downside for me was the rather thin curtains - the east facing bedroom was bathed in very early morning sunlight. Blackout curtains woul be a great addition, but perhaps that is just me,

Breakfast was plentiful.

Would I go back? Yes!

We stayed in this B & B in May 2012 for the one night before we headed North. It is a very comfortable place with a nice lounge to sit it, with a large fire going. We were on the first floor, in a fair sized room, and it was lovely and warm. Bathroom was also a little bigger than normal with a good shower, warm towels(!), and a good supply of toiletries.
Breakfast was very nice, and there was quite a bit of choice.

Room Tip: These room as away from the Loch although only a short distance, so any room would be lovely and qui...

The Riverside Hotel has provided my holiday accommodation for the last seven years. I want a good location, convenient parking, a genuinely warm welcome, a helpful and friendly staff, excellent cleanliness throughout the hotel, modern accommodation, a good bed and a choice of breakfast menus to set me up day ahead. All these I find at the Riverside, so I shall be staying there in 2013, of course.

Room Tip: As far as I am aware, all the rooms are good.
