We stayed here on June 20th. The owners come across as calm and kind. We stayed in Room 1 which was clean, well appointed and spacious. The breakfast room has a fantastic view of Loch Broom, and breakfast was very good.

You can't go wrong by staying at Sheilings. Clean, comfortable, good service, friendly, helpful and delicious breakfast. They also recommended great golfing in the area. The views from the breakfast room was also spectacular.

We stayed here for one night at the beginning of our trip to the Outer Hebrides. We were warmly greeted on arrival and given helpful information about the area to help with our stay. We were given a downstairs room which didn't have a view of the loch but it was spacious clean and comfortable with a good sized en suite. Great views of the loch could be seen from the lounge and dinning room and the shore could be accessed via the garden. It is just an easy 10 minute walk into Ullapool itself and much less than that by car to the CalMac ferry terminal. The breakfast was tasty and nicely presented. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again it was first class.

Room Tip: If you are staying for more than one night ask for a room with a view of the loch

The location is right on Loch Broom with wonderful views from the breakfast room. The room itself was very clean and modern. The location also has the added benefit of laundry facilities (reasonably priced) and a sauna (reasonably priced), which you are welcome to use at any time. If we were in Ullapool again, we would stay at this location.

We ended up staying at The Sheiling when our hotel could not provide an extra night's stay - and it was in no way a let down. This is a very comfortable B and B situated on the edge of Ullapool with a wonderful view over the town and Loch Broom. The owners provided a very warm welcome to their modern very well kept home. The rooms are bright, shiningly clean, extremely comfortable and well equipped, even down to a decanter of sherry, though I could not get the bedside radio to work. All the rooms have Freeview TV. The residents' lounge is also comfortable and well- furnished (books, games, magazines, newspapers and a keyboard) and both it and the bright breakfast again share wonderful views. Breakfast was delicious with a choice of well-cooked dishes. There is ample parking, a well-tended garden and the walk into town is a 10 minute stroll. This is a very good place to stay.

The B&B is a 10 minute walk from the main street of Ullapool and has great view over the loch. We were lucky enough to get Room 4, which overlooks the loch and was fairly spacious, with a nice en-suite bathroom. There were lots of nice little touches, including a glass of sherry and some sweets, some special facial soap and cleansing pads. Everything was clean and comfortable and we got a great night's sleep.

Breakfast was served slightly later in the morning, allowing us to have a little lie-in! I'd definitely recommend the porridge, served with cream and honey, as it was quite different from porridge in most places. It's also worth opting for the smoked salmon/haddock with scrambled eggs, as there is a local smokehouse and it's very tasty.

The owner, Lesley, was particularly friendly, giving recommendations for where to eat in the evening, and also about garages in the morning when we needed our car fixed.

We'd definitely recommend this as a place to stop at when in Ullapool.

Room Tip: Rooms 4 and 5 overlook the loch.

I stayed here as part of a Digital Dawn Photography Course and the place couldn't have been more well suited.
We arrived to a great welcome from Iain and Lesley, and were shown to our rooms. Everything was thought of.....fluffy towels, sherry and lots of hot water! The decor is a little dated but is that really important??
The breakfast was amazing, with everything cooked fresh.
We were lucky enough to have dinner included as part of the course and the cooking each evening by a local lovely lady who's name escapes me ( so sorry!!!) was incredible..... It was a good job we were out in the freezing cold for 8 hours a day to earn the reward of the dinner.
If you want a great welcome, warm and comfortable rooms, and fab breakfast this is the place to be.
Thank you Lesley and Iain for a great week.
