“Outstanding quality”

This is by far the most tastefully decorated room we stayed in on a 10 day trip of the highlands and islands. Beautifully restored old furniture and excellent quality sheets, accented with Harris tweed. The food was wonderful, and the owners clearly have a commitment towards organic fair trade produce. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this place.

We stayed in Manran Mara for two nights in mid-July. We feel compelled to write a very positive review about Manran Mara because the lack of reviews here has not done this B&B justice, not that this bothers Alex, one of the owners of the B&B. There is only one room in Manran Mara, which means we were well looked after by the host, during breakfast time especially. The room has its own entrance in the back garden and this allowed us to go back to our room late without disturbing the host's family. The big surprise is the sun longue, which is for guests' exclusive use. The longue is also where we had brekkie. As for the room, it is thoughtfully designed, with a warm shade of yellow. It works really well, in particular on a fine day as it gives the room a gloriously summery look. (by the way, you can also see the poetically beautiful sunset from the room!). The room has everything you can expect from a B&B, plus all the little extra, like bathrobes, slippers and fresh milk! The breakfast was super-super - we had everything that you could imagine for brekkie. As the host and her husband are in the bakery business, we had some very good bread and oatcakes, which set us up nicely on both days. So a thank you to Alex, who got everything just right. We highly recommend this B&B.

I can honestly say that Manran Mara is a superb place to stay. You dont have to leave your room in order to see the beautiful sunsets which is an added bonus as you can see them from your room. The room is everything you could wish for- lovely comfortable double bed, beautiful linen and a contemporary bathroom. After a fantastic breakfast we discovered that Alex and Alan the owners run the local bakery which explained why they had such lovely bread and shortbread!. There was very useful information in the room which helped us greatly as we were only there for a few days. We shall be back as soon as work allows us. Thankyou Alex and Alan for a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: There is only one room but we also had exclusive use of the small conservatory where we had breakfas...
