“Wonderful host and wonderful Ullapool”
Reviewed June 27, 2011

I and my husband just came back from our holiday in Ullapool. We spent 6 nights so 5 days at Mrs. Mackenzie. She is a very nice and warm and agreeable person and also very careful. We enjoyed our days there. The breakfast was always excellent. You don’t need to ask for anything because you have everything and even if you ask, it is fine, you will get what you asked for. If some day will go there again, we will go for Mrs Mackenzie. So far from our experience, 3 B&Bs, she is the nicest and the Best. Highly recommended. Thank you for looking after us. S&V

My wife and I stayed two nights at the Carnoch Bed And Breakfast in Ullapool, Scotland.
Must say this is a place we will return to – if ever visiting Ullapool again, that is.

Our room was small but very cosy.
It was very clean and newly painted.
And the breakfast was absolutely delicious and ample (am a retired catering manager, so know about that).
And for the first time in a UK B&B we had real fabric napkins..!

Carnoch – which is run Mrs. Robbie Macenzie - is just a few minutes walk from the harbour, with regular ferry service to Stornoway on the isle of Lewis.
Hotels, pubs and a Tesco are within the same distance.

Staying here will not disappoint you…

Great location in Ullapool, a few streets back from the harbour but only a short walk. The rooms were cosy and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The host not as warm and welcoming as others we had experienced, but friendly and helpful when it came to where to eat and what to see. Thanks for a great stay.

My husband and I went to Ullapool to celebrate our 1st Wedding anniversary and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. It is in a perfect location set in the heart of Ullapool. Robbie MacKenzie the host was lovely and so hospitable and accomodating (letting us drop our bags in early) Breakfast was perfect and there was a wonderful choice on offer. Our room was very comfortable and it even had a sofa - a lovely en-suite also. It had everything you needed including great information on what to do and where to go in Ullapool and the surrounding Highlands - it even included menus of all the local restaurants....I would recommend this B&B to anyone. We can't wait to return next year.

Stayed here for 1 night with a friend and would love to come back again. It's very small (I think only 2 rooms) and cosy and the host (Robbie) is lovely. Located on West Argyle Street, it's within walking distance to everything in Ullapool. I was a little worried about hearing music late at night from the Ceilidh Place, but I couldn't hear a thing (and we stayed on a Saturday night!). Our room was very comfortable, with a bed AND a couch. Bathroom was small, but completely adequate. The other room that our friend stayed in had a bath which was great. Breakfast was fantastic (especially the smoked haddock!! I'd come back just for that!!). Will definitely recommend this to anyone travelling to Ullapool.
