Me and my partner stayed for a wonderful 3 nights in Richard and Colleens b and b in ullapool. It was perfect and surpassed anything we could have imagined.

The room was tastefully decorated with lovely old pictures of ullapool on the walls, it was also comfortable and spotless. The concept of having your breakfast at hand in the room was a hit! We enjoyed eating our breakfast when we wanted, by the window in our jammies! and you're not bogged down by a huge greasy breakfast like the usual suspects in B and B's. Bread for toast, fresh fruits, local oatcakes and cheeses..cereals...you're spoilt for choice!

The location of the hotel is also perfect - it's across the road from probably the best restaurant in Ullapool - Celidh Place, and a 2 minute walk to the harbour and shops - but far enough back that you're not on the main road with all the cars going by...

...and finally but most importantly you will be welcomed warmly by Colleen, Richard and their dog! They were priceless with the information they gave to us (Celidh Place and Arch Inn suggestions for eating....big big hits!) - and also including things to visit in the area..walks/drives etc....

a big thank you to them for making our stay perfect! (and my partner would like to add that the bed linen smelled amazing.... ; ) )

Recommend highly!!!!

Marvellous. I was slightly taken aback by the continental breakfast in the room until I investigated what was actually on offer. There is a wide range of fruit, cereals, toast and chesses in the fridge in the room. These are freshly restocked with any requests added. It is perfect to have breakfast by the window looking at the beautiful views.

The lack of cooked breakfast seems to be reflected in the competitive pricing of the B&B. It is also quite nice to not begin the day being completed stuffed. Fresh cake is provided in the rooms when you come back from a day exploring which is a lovely touch. This is one of the small details that really sets this B&B apart from others. Room spotless, bed comfy, highly knowledgeable hosts who check you have everything you need. What more can you ask for. Highly recommeneded.

We stayed here for a week and found the quality of accomodation and attention to detail exceptional. Thanks to our hosts Colleen and Richard the whole experience from initial booking to final farewells was a real pleasure. Our room was spacious, comfy and spotlessly clean with a loch view and the "in room" breakfast buffet amazingly comprehensive with the fresh fruit salad a really nice touch, not to mention the plentiful supplies of Colleen's scrumptious home made cake! The location was ideal as well with the harbour, shops and lots of good restaurants and cafes only a minute or two away yet it was quiet and we were able to go on lovely "wilderness" walks straight from the door: try Loch Achall but Richard is happy to advise about others. Unresevedly recommended and worth every penny.

Stayed here for one night for my birthday, owners Colleen & Richard are fantastic, even baked me a cake as it was my birthday :) rooms are very clean, modern & well equipped. Very large choice of food in room for continental breakfast. Owners can accomodate any request and have a vast knowledge of the local area. B&B itself is located in the centre of Ullapool, with the Ceilidh Place right across the road. Highly recommend as 'the' place to stay if you are visiting Ullapool, we'll definitely be coming back. Thanks Colleen & Richard.

Been a regular visitor to Ullapool for over 20 years and must say that West House is best I've stayed in during that time.

Found it by accident after trying a few other places (who were fully booked) but delighted with the result. Nice crisp clean room. I liked the fact that breakfast was in the room (I'm not really a morning chit chat sort of person!!) and it was absolutely perfect.

This is now my number 1 choice in ullapool and will be recommending it to family and friends alike.
