After trip 8 to Maho Beach, they are still doing a great job. The entire staff is incredibily attentive and wonderfully friendly. Special thanks to Cheryl, Romane, and Lorna. The food could be upgraded a tad and the rooms need an update but the staff makes up the difference. I love the jets coming and going...some may not. If noisy nights are an issue, one might want to stay at Great Bay, the sister propery.

As a flight crew member, I have been coming here...a lot. Being so close to the airport and them giving our dispatch/handlers such dirt cheap rates, its expected we are going to stay here when we fly here. Its been 5 years since my last visit though. Its getting more old and tired. The service is OK but slow. The smell from the toilet is like no other. Do not get a room overlooking the casino, or expect to hear the 808's (Boom Boom Boom) until 3am. Free breakfast buffet for all inclusive, and free exercise waving birds and flies away from it. If you like watching and hearing jets take off and land, you're all set.

My recommendation is if you are coming here for the sun, beach, free booze, and have a laid back or party attitude, this place is for you. If you like a quiet romantic resort, with nice rooms, and good service, then go somewhere else.

This is listed as a 4.5 star in the travel books and a 3.5 by tripadvisor. For Sint Maarten I'll agree with TA. My trip was an all-inclusive which started at 1004 tax in, with upgrade and SS the total was 1465 a great price for SM.

The hotel is located 2 minutes from the arrivals gate, don't wait for your bus, take a cab and check-in first. Frankie at the front desk was courteous, diligent, and helpful.

I had a deluxe room which is renovated with newer furnishings and not a compliant can I make. Pool/ocean view balcony, king bed, flat screen, coffee maker, iron/board, fridge etc.

There are three different food stations, a buffet varied and plentiful, outdoor menu order (sandwich, wings, soup) and a fine dining steak and seafood. The drinks are BOTTLED no draft. and premium brands of liquor.

The grounds are expanse and kept very clean as is the pool. The staff were great (Frankie, Roberto, Ramon, Tissia and Sheryl plus others)

Nearby is everything! Groceries, Casino, Bars, Clubs, Restaurants, Shopping, Entertainment and the famous beach for the planes are all within mere minutes of a walk.

I don't normally go to the same destination twice, but now I just might.

The only reason I did not give five stars was that only one food station was open at a time and there was no grill/snack stand. This all could be because it was low season during my stay.

Overall a decent place to stay. Beautiful spot with great ocean views. The food was good the first day, but was the same everyday:( Sheryl the pool bartender is EXCELLENT!!! She made the whole trip, one of the few nice staff.

LOts of reviews stating no water/towels/silverware/etc... Sorry to say we found none of that. Room on 4th floor premiur overlooking ocean was large (seperate bedroom) and clean. Balcony was non existent enough for two small chairs and very close to next door neighbors. View was mainly shrubbery with a small view of ocean (balcony not covered). Food was plentiful with somewhat of a variety (lots of fish/rice/vegetables). Down side would be the proximity to airport (yeah its fun to watch and participate) but after the hundredth landing/takeoff its is only LOUD, so if your wanting to doze by the pool(s) bring earplugs (yeah a lot of commercial and private planes during day, very little at night). There is no beach so don't expect to sit on one, there is a small stretch that had a few chairs, but the surf was very high and eliminated that quickly. Front desk is slooow, but accommodating (look for the one in charge). Rented a car for full stay, but only needed it for 2 days. Make sure to visit the sister resort (in Phillipsburg on the beach). ALL in ALL a favorable time

Room Tip: Only real view of ocean with what looked like bigger balconies were in the Tower, but it did look older than the main building, some end rooms on main building were close enough, but go high 6 or better
