We camped here unfortunately only for two nights but will be going back as soon as the weather decides to sort its act out! The loch on the site is beautiful, the toilets/showers were clean and comfortable, the snack van was an added bonus when it rained non stop! And as much as camping is about going back to basics we loved the free wifi so we could watch tv when we were stuck in the tent due to the rain. The warden came round and checked all the campers were ok after a bad storm. We only left one day early as it was our pups first trip and the noise from the two days of storms was too much for her. Fantastic site. Definitely worth a visit.

We have just returned from another week at Loch Ken Holiday Park. Absolutely fantastic!! We are a family with 2 boys (both aged 14) 1 girl (aged 10) and Grandma (aged 75). We took our touring van while Grandma hired a static van. We have had a superb week, the park was busy and we were very lucky to have amazing weather. We do have our own kayak and used it regularly on the loch, there are boats and kayaks to hire on the site. The kids had a great time fishing on the Loch and they didn't need a permit. Great live music on Saturday night. The site shop is only small but does have the necessities. We used the Water Ski School and would recommend it, we hired a speed boat and did water skiing and banana boating - great fun.

We didn't see a lot of the Mungo (the owner) this time but big thanks to Paul the Site Warden who is more than happy to help and give advice and has recommended lots of good walks and places to visit. Not forgetting the food van on site - great food and good people.

Would fully recommend the site and will return next year. It would be nice to see the benches back down by the Loch again.

Having just returned from another trip campinig to Loch Ken Holiday park I figured it was around time I keyed a few words.
Like some other reviewers we were part of a large family group who decend over various weekends over the "Summer " months. We have been to LKHP more than a dozen times over the last couple of years and now believe we have found the perfect campsite for our requirements. We also have had many visits from both the Owner and the Warden however it has not been to tell us to keep the noise down, more to enquire on our well being and offering help and assistance. We have been camping for too many years to mention and it is this personal touch (and a fantastic facility) that makes us return time after time.
With regards to the weekend with the tribute band I think you will find that the owner was only concerned that the people on the campsite who did not attend the performance and indeed the local residents were not bothered with the noise. We were there and the volume reduction was barely noticable (although the pantomime booing was funny).
On a last note the campsite has 2 shower and tiolet blocks and additional temporary facilities were brought in for the "large group ", we had 12 in our group and we all managed to get showered before breakfast.
We will return time after time to what we think is a fantastic campsite.

This was our 5th year camping as a group of 7 families and our first visit to Loch Ken. We won’t be back as a group. When we arrived we were told to pitch in a long row instead of a curve as we usually do. They have a ‘quiet down’ policy at 10pm which is fair enough but it was ridiculous when our children were told to get to bed when playing in the park just behind our tents. What was more ridiculous was that we had a warning from the owner when he done his nightly patrol to keep the noise down despite the fact we were only talking and we has 16+ children all happily sleeping in their tents. He was rude and had no people skills and his manner and attitude made us feel like naughty children being told off. To add to this there was an annual gathering on with more 200 extra visitors so the toilets and showers were over used, dirty and I had to queue 45mins for a shower.
On the plus side the location is beautiful and the take away van had a fantastic variety of fresh cooked food and were very willing to accommodate any requests.

First impression was 'Ideal Setting', the staff were very curtious & friendly and we were looking forward to a fun weekend. We were one family of a group of 7 on our annual camping wkend. The one thing that spoilt it was the manner & attitude of the owner. While I appreciate the park has a rule of quieting down from 10pm onwards, at no point did we realise that ment all kids to be in bed by then & adults not far behind them! If the park doesn't want to encourage larger groups then they shldnt take the bookings. We woke up our first morning at 6am to the loud arrival of a group in excess of 100 people who were expected to share the toilet block with us which consisted of 3 showers & 3 toilets. However when we were chatting outside our own tents at 11pm that evening, we were asked to keep the noise down! We weren't partying or being loud, between us we had 16 kids all in bed sleeping & no complaints had been made about noise from us but still we warranted a warning visit from the owner. No apologies for the inconvenience we had that day putting up with noise, filthy toilets & showers, just a warning that we had to be quiet....were we expected to whisper??? Anyway, we won't be back. We have been camping as a group for the last 5 years now and this is the first time we've ever had cause for complaint. What camp site has a tribute singer playing in their park for entertainment but mid session asks them to turn the sound down?.....ludicrous!

Stayed there for two nights not much to do,owner is a bit strict with kids and adults more like a prison regime than a holiday camp.would not recommend this place if you want to have any fun. Mungo needs to lighten the mood a little told the singer to turn his amp down at 8:30pm as he was too loud told the kids to stop playing at10pm and said they should be in bed told the adults to turn music down and stop laughing loudly .it felt as if the kids were running riot when allthey were doing was playing football. As for the adults you could not hear a thing from twenty paces away
