There are two nice walks from the visitor center one easy to Bruce's stone which is a nice paved stroll and the other up the hill to admire the views.. The visitor center has a lovely tea room the cream tea was great with free refill of tea. Plenty of seating outside if it is sunny and watch the birds on the feeders..

First Stop on our way to our Scottish holiday, went with my husband and two dogs, walked from the car park to Bruces Stone a lovely short walk on well maintained paths ideal for stretching all of our legs, after the walk we had a beautiful ham and cheese baguette it was delicious and freshly made, bird feeders also in the trees so you can sit and watch the birds, clean toilets on site, only thing it was missing was a bin for the dog poo, also apply plenty of midge spray before getting out of the car as there are lots here and they were really biting us and the dogs apart from that which can't be helped it was great x

As far as visitor centres go this is ok, we didn't think much of the walking routes and would recommend going elsewhere locally over Clatteringshaws.

Stop in at the visitors center a couple of times whilst I was touring around the area. Its a great stop a lovely location by the Loch with a nice cafe and hand toilets the disabled toilets are open 24/7 that handy if you come here after Dark to take advantage of the Dark Sky status of the Galloway Forest great place a well worth stopping in if your driving along the Queens Way(A712).
