No fuss restaurant. Welcoming attentive staff, good service. Great curries. Not licensed so remember to BYO if you want alcohol with your meal.

I have visited Little India a couple of times and it has never failed to disappoint. Fantastic freshly cooked regional dishes with the option of a buffet special on Friday and Saturday's. It is a BYO wine/beer venue which is handy as it's right next to a Co-Op. The staff are very friendly and attentive to your needs. I would say its medium sized venue with around 30 covers so it may be a consideration to book for an evening table on weekends.

The frontage of Little India, Victoria St, Newton Stewart, may not grab you (we hummed and aa-ed before taking the plunge) and though the interior is neat, clean and comfortable, the Taj Mahal it aint. But, if you have a palate for the most tasty of Indian flavours, - good, wholesome fresh ingredients, suffused with fresh herbs and spices, then you are passing up a truly rare cuisine experience.
Within you will find no commercially manufactured chicken nuggets floating in suspiciously startling red or unbelievably yellow sauces, but dishes of exceptional flavour, prepared by a master in their craft. Even the rice had a distinctive individuality, and the Nans - clearly made there and then - were as light as a feather. And the price? Around £25 for courtesy popadums and pickles, two main meals with special rices and nan bread.
The boys who opened this exceptional treasure came down from Glasgow to fill a gap in the market, and their delight in your delight is evident. Of the dishes we had on the evening every one was a jewel (We can highly recommend the King Prawn Tikka Lahori saag and my own favourite was the Peri Peri Massala). Be aware, they do not have a license, but will happy open and provide glasses for a BYOB, conveniently available from the CO-Op a couple of doors down the street. Naturally, they also run a thriving Take-Away Service.
We will be back.

We booked a table earlier in the week as we were visiting the area for the weekend. We got to a lttle place and were seated straight away, I will say I booked a table for 4 and took 6 people and all was fine with the owners. Its a bring your own beers and wine place with a supermarket just down the road. We did that! Then ate glorious food until we could were stuffed! I recommend the tandoori kixed grill ! Huge portions, and if like us you'd been riding the trails centres, it was well needed! Brilliant service, lots of nibbles in between courses and a lovely atmosphere! We shall return! Thankyou

the food and staff were outstanding, this place doesn't have a drinks license but the co-op next door is open late and it has all the drink you need, Little India gave us openers and glasses and were more than happy to do so, there were 6 lads all of us were stuffed and the whole lot came to £75 (inc tip) WOW
