“Another fantastic stay - simply the best !!!”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

We initially stayed at the Hotel in June whilst visiting the area however we enjoyed it so much that we have just been back for 3 nights to celebrate my wife's birthday - her choice and I must say I was surprised as we normally go across to Europe.
The first thing that should be mentioned is that it is not the appearance and the interior that makes this a fantastic place to stay - it's the staff who work there and the owners (Sarah & Steve). Special mention to Kenny - Bar Manager - he made us feel so very welcome and he has a fantastic personality, nothing is too much trouble for him and we loved the way he absolutely adored our dog (Kia). Kenny you are amazing - thank you for everything. Also thanks to Leisa, Fiona and Kirsty - you all made our stay so fantastic and the attention you gave Kia was very much appreciated.
The Hotel is not modern and could do with some touching up in places however it is very clean and very comfortable - I would say the 3 stars are correct. We stayed in the superior room - it was excellent and the bed was so comfortable it was hard to get up each morning. The reception area is comfortable and the fire was blazing away when we were there - it was a pleasure to sit there with a latte and some home-made shortbread.
Now to the food - that really is amazing and is definitely another reason that you would want to return to this Hotel. The starters are original and my favourite is the garlic creamy mushrooms. The deserts are too die for and it was difficult to decide what to have - the cheesecake is a definite winner and the fruit crumble is not what you expect and is also a winner. Main courses - you cannot go wrong whatever you choose as you can be guaranteed it will be cooked to the highest standard.
So if you find yourself in this area, make sure you visit.

Room Tip: Choose Room 5 - it's the superior room and has a fantastic view of the garden.

I would like to thank all the staff and chef at the Creebridge House Hotel for the outstanding service we received last week. We were very lucky and won a prize to eat in the hotel and as we are not from the area we had no idea what to expect. We arrived to find the most beautiful gardens surrounding the lovely building. When we entered the hotel we couldn't have been looked after better. We were welcomed by a roaring fire in reception area and friendly smiles, after smiles and hello's were exchanged a huge box of toys appeared for the children and also activity packs were on hand to keep them amused. We were then taken through to the dining room to have lunch. My son is disabled and has a very limited diet and our girls have food allergies, this did not phase the staff or the chef at all. The food was served promptly and tasted great. We were very impressed and will definitely return when we visit Newton Stewart in the future.

We have just returned from a 6-day stay at the Creebridge House Hotel, partly as a reunion and partly as a holiday. We were delighted with our stay, the hotel was comfortable, the food excellent and the staff were exceptional, going out of their way to look after us - two 78 year old pensioners! The rest of our group were equally enthusiastic about our treatment and we would recomment this Hotel to all. Hopefully we will be able to make a return visit.

Villia and Peter.

Spent three nights here on a long weekend exploring this beautiful part of Scotland. The hotel is positioned close to Newton Stewart but far enough out to be quiet and no road noise. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food (vegetarian) was delicious. Te dining room is obviously popular with both residents and non residents. The room was comfortable and clean but like many hotels these days, not without the odd touch up needed here and there. The grounds are small but it was too early in the season for us to take advantage of them anyway. All in all a comfortable stay with some personal touches and friendly staff and management. The car park is not huge but on all but the first day of our stay there was no problem with parking. The main issue on our first day was an event taking place at the hotel. However we still got a space and the event did not disturb us.

Myself and my friends have been staying here for the last 8 years for our local fishing trips, and all this time we have never had a bad time.
The staff are friendly and helpful, also in the bar the locals take a friendly interest in your stay helping you with any local information you may need.
Over the years we sampled most of what the menu has to offer, and it has never been less than excellent, and The Cree Grill breakfast is a cracking way to start your day, it keeps us running until the evening when we get back from our fishing.
The rooms are clean and tidy with good sized beds. All the radiators can be controlled in the rooms for your own comfort.
The shops and town center are only 200mts away, and in this short walk you have the views up & down the Cree river.
I also took the Mrs here for a short break(2008) to show her where me and my mate's go every year. When we left she said "I can see why you want to come here ever year".
The Cree Bridge Hotel is excellent, the locals are friendly, and the area is just beautiful with some stunning scenery.
I'd be very surprised if you didn't enjoy your stay here---Digseyboy

Room Tip: Just ask for a room with a garden view.

A one night stay, with a superb dinner, in a friendly small hotel and with staff who are so different from hotel chains. The breakfast choice was good and the cooked breakfast was freshly cooked (haggis, bacon and poached eggs). We were in transit so only had a quick walk across the bridge into Newton Stewart. A good base for exploring the region and we plan a return.
