This is an excellent cottage, a cosy home from home rental. Our host was very welcoming and provided us with homemade goodies. Set within walking distance to Galloway forest park, which is handy when you have dogs to walk.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already talking about a return visit in the summer! The cottage is very clean and well equipped. It's in a perfect location too, lovely walks nearby and only a few mins drive away from the nearest village with shops. Will definitely be recommending to our friends!

“Comfy, cosy and lovely location.”

I decide at last minute to go across for four nights for a break and also explore the area, one I had not explored before. The cottage has all that you need and to sit in the conservatory is lovely. I had hoped to see a red squirrel but was not lucky enough but the birds were in abundance every morning and the fact that bird food and squirrel nuts are provided to top up as required is a lovely touch. The area has lots to offer, Cairlaverock castle is lovely and the Mull of Galloway exhillerating and the Kirroughlee forest, on the cottages doorstep has many walks to suit all abilities and then there are the dark skies with a multitude of stars to take your breath away - a real treat for a 'townie' like me who never sees so many at home.
