We spent our honeymoon here. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left nothing was too much trouble. Great hosts, excellent place with amazing and immaculate facilities. Delicious and filling breakfast (sourced locally). We would highly recommend and will certainly return.

We got a warm, friendly welcome complete with a cup of tea and a plate of shortbread. Our en-suite room was immaculate, as was the rest of the house. There was good tea and coffee making facilities, freeview TV and plenty of drawer space.
Breakfast was superb with an excellent choice of cereal, yogurt, fruit juice, fresh fruit salad and cooked breakfast, including home cured bacon, local free range eggs and haggis as well as all the usual. Toast came accompanied by a choice of honey and a variety of jams and marmalade, washed down by tea or ground coffee.
There is a well appointed sun room for guests to use, with comfortable seating and a variety of leaflets advertising local attractions and amenities.
There is plenty to do in the area and we enjoyed some lovely walks through woods, along the shore and next to salt marshes. There is also a very good distillery near by as well as museums, castles and some interesting harbour towns.
All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend Muirfad Farmhouse to anyone looking for B & B.

Me and my friend recently stopped at this B&B and we were very impressed! The couple who run the B&B were very welcoming and friendly but not in your face. The Twin room we stopped in was imaculate with an on-sweet bathroom and freeview TV. The breakfast was served at a time to suit you and we were spoilt for choise :) Id Definatly stay there again!

We were welcomed in a friendly and helpful way, and the owners were very accommodating to our requests. The farmhouse is imacculate and charming, set in lovely rural surroundings, with an attractive large garden. Our bedroom was very tastefully decorated, modern but retaining it's farmhouse charm, with period features. The bed was very comfy, and we had an en-suite shower room. Breakfast time was negotiable we were offered a huge selection of quality fresh food, including cooked breakfast, fresh fruit salad and all the usuals. We highly recommend it!

We were looking for a B & B in the Newton Stewart area of Dumfries and Galloway and the local Scottish Tourist Office found us Muirfad Farmhouse B & B at Palnure, just 3 miles east of Newton Stewart. We booked for two nights, but in the meantime had a problem at home which meant we could only stay one night. Sue was very understanding when we arrived and said that would not be a problem. She produced a tray of tea, homemade scones, jam and cream which was very welcome after a very stressful afternoon - their normal service, not just because we had problems. Our room and en-suite shower room were immaculate, and the breakfast extremely good. All in all a B & B of a very high standard with extremely pleasant and helpful owners. The area is uncrowded and off the normal tourist route, and has a lot of gardens, castles and places of interest to visit.
