“superbly appointed house”
Reviewed June 20, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Stichill mains is a short drive outside Kelso but the rural setting allows for a very large property with excellent sun terrace outside. This is easily the best equipped property I've rented - not a hint of 10 of this and 10 of that - and generously comes with all the basic household sundries in place. An abundance of towels were available in each bathroom (of which there were 4). Bedrooms are huge, the kitchen superb and there is comfortable lounge seating in each bedroom and landing should one feel the need to escape from holiday companions! Oh, and that's in addition to the lounge. Utility room has everything you need if staying longer.

Did I mention the superb kitchen???? We spent most of our 'home' time around the massive table. No opportunity to use the BBQ, sadly, but will factor that in to the next visit! The owners live just opposite and respond to requests for assistance quickly.

Highly recommend for family groups and groups of friends.

“Home from home”
Reviewed May 25, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

What a pleasant surprise when we arrived at this wonderful gem. It modern, clean and furnished to a very high standard. We were greeted by both Susan and Arthur who were friendly and answered any queries that we had. They also allowed us to bring our dog which was a bonus. It was fully equipment with everything that you would require for a one night or one month stay. All rooms had a TV and the huge kitchen / dining room had a 50” TV. Car parking was easy. Would recommend this accommodation to anyone. Will come again.

“Absolutely wonderful!”
Reviewed May 11, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

This really is a spectacular house. It was our first visit and I hope it won't be our last. Susan and Arthur really have thought of everything. The bedrooms are comfortable and beautifully appointed with lovely linens. The focal point for us was the main room at the back of the house which consists of the fantastic kitchen and long dining table. It leads out onto a sunny patio with views of the hills. Everything in this house feels well considered. Unfortunately two nights was not nearly enough! Very highly recommended.

“This home is a truly superb, immaculate and spacious home of great quality.”
Reviewed May 10, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

My wife and I and other members (7) of our extended family stayed for a family gathering at the end of June.
This home is a truly superb, immaculate and spacious accommodation of great quality with everything you are ever likely to need for a holiday home stay. The kitchen/ dining area has to be highlighted as a great entertainment space and 4 very comfortable bedrooms are sufficiently far enough apart to offer peace and quiet if there is more than one family staying. Despite having two dogs it was pleasing that this was not a problem to our hosts (unlike other cottages who advertise as dog friendly but clearly are not). There is a really nice sitting out area in the garden such a shame that the weather did not allow us to use it.
Our thanks to Arthur for offering a great deal of help and advice to my nephew and sons who are keen shooters and needed practice locally. Re-assuring that Susan and Arthur are always on hand to offer whatever assistance you may require.
First time we have stayed in Kelso (which is only three or four minutes drive away) and must say it offered more than we ever expected with some very nice and unusual shops, so much so we will most probably visit again. Shame we couldn’t stay longer however our thanks to our hosts for allowing us to use their fine home.

“Fabulous Five Star accommodation”
Reviewed March 31, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Stayed 21st March 2014 for long weekend.
This property has everything you need for a family holiday. It is of excellent standard. The views from the rear of the building were wonderful all you could see was beautiful borders countryside.
We came to stay for my husbands 60th birthday celebrations.
Arthur and Susan could have not been anymore helpful. They arranged taxis to take us to Kelso racing and were always available for any queries that we might have.
Will definitely come again for a holiday as the cottage is well situated for visiting the surrounding area.
