“Another Amazing Stay - The Allanettes”
Reviewed March 25, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

What can I say. We stayed at Stichill Mains last year for the first time and were absolutuely bowled over by the property and it's wonderful hosts Susan and Arthur so had no hesitation in booking it again for this year.

The house has not changed a bit. Still the seriously high standard we were met with last year and got welcomed back like old friends by Susan and Arthur.

The house has absolutely everything you need for a fantastic stay and the kitchen dining area is absolutely fantastic and such a great entertaining space.

The bedrooms are gorgeous especilly the 2 upstairs and the house sleeps 10 so a great place for friends or family gatherings.

I really cannot speak highly enough of Stichill Mains and if you want to explore the Border's region this is a fantastic place to come back to in the evening.

We know it won't be our last visit and some of my group have already booked to go back later in the year with another group of friends.

Thanks Susan and Arthur for making us feel so at home you two definitely have what it takes to continue to make this a favourite with all who visit. The guest book says it all.

Hope to see you again soon the Allanettes (Anne,Jenny,Janis,Liz and Joan)

“Perfect!”

From start to finish our stay at Stichill Mains was perfect! We visited the beautiful barn conversion with our extended family to celebrate my Mum's 60th. First and foremost the assistance from Susan and Arthur was top notch. Susan assisted with cake provision, extra beds, Sainsburys shopping and even with those extra wee questions that pop into your head in the middle of the night! Thank you!
The house is simply stunning and we all loved it. The young children enjoyed the space and had many games of hide and seek. The older children enjoyed the sanctuary to sit and chat. The adults spent most of the time in the giant kitchen/dining room, this hub was the most popular hangout for all. The kitchen is by a mile the most equipped kitchen I have had the privilege to use in a holiday home and for that reason, we ate in the whole time. The whole house was immaculate, beautifully decorated and furnished. The beds were extremely comfortable and adaptable to tailor to individual guests needs.
The village people in Kelso were ever so friendly. We were fortunate enough to experience the local Farmers Market, by far the best one I have been to in a while. I would recommend the Meringue Cafe for a cuppa and a cake, we consumed 15 pieces of their millionaire shortbread over 4 days.....it is to die for!!!! (There were 10 of us!)
All in all a beautiful house with wonderful hosts. We very much hope to return in the future.

“Perfect family celebration house!!”
Reviewed February 10, 2014 for a stay in February 2014

We have just returned from a lovely long weekend break at Stichill Mains, two families with 5 'teenage children' betweeen us. This was just perfect for us - we are all so busy with own lives and this gave us time and space to have two full days of just enjoying each other's company without the demands of 'taxi driving', facebook, and everyone doing something different. Susan and Arthur were excellent 'landlords' from initial contact to post care follow up. We arranged for clay pigeon shotting on Friday which Arthur organised for us. This too was ideal. Great family break.

“First class in every way.”
Reviewed January 5, 2014 for a stay in December 2013

Beautiful house in an idyllic location ideal for families and larger groups. Very well equipped and very comfortable. The house was furnished to an exceptional standard and we wanted for nothing whilst we were there. Added to this, the owners's, Arthur and Susan were exceptionally nice and friendly, and went out of their way to make sure our stay was pleasurable. Our stay was because of a family bereavement, and we wanted to get away over Christmas, and Arthur and Susan were aware of this, and helped us through a very sad time.. I cannot speak highly enough of the property, nor the owners, and we will definately be returning again.

“Lovely house, very helpful owners”
Reviewed December 3, 2013 for a stay in November 2013

We recently stayed at Stichill Mains 29th Nov - 1st Dec 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed the house and locality. In total, there were 4 couples, 3 kids and a dog - the home was very spacious with a sociable layout. It was a late booking and Susan couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating - did us a great deal and made us feel very welcome from start to finish. The house itself was spotless and had everything you would need (cooking utensils in particular) for a weekend. The kitchen/dining area was fantastic for such a big group. Would certainly recommend and will definitely book again.

“beautiful property with fabulous views”
Reviewed October 22, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

stayed at Stitchill Mains for my 53rd birthday from 18th to 20th Oct, my friend had already stayed in June for her 70th birthday. Accomodation is faultless and very comfortable. The furnishing, bedding etc is to a very high standard. Utensils, cooking dishes, cutlery etc is in abundance. Kelso race course is just down the road and Kelso town has some lovely pubs to eat in, we ate at the Waggon Inn, fish and chips to die for. Been raving about Stitchil Mains at work and already work mates are going wow that looks fab and are making enquiries. Thank you to Susan and Arthur and hoping to see you again next year

“Amazing House in a gorgeous place! :)”
Reviewed September 3, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

A group of 7 of us stayed at the house in August this year when attending a wedding nearby. We had plenty of room and found the house to be absolutely lovely with beautifully decorated rooms and everything you need. The house literally has everything! :)

We had a fantastic weekend and was the perfect place to stay with friends. The wedding we attended was in Kelso which is also a lovely place to visit, we were only disappointed we could not stay longer than the weekend. Susan and Arthur the owners, are wonderful and so friendly and helpful too.

I will definately reccommend to others and hope to go back at some point.
