What a wonderful day had by all... from attentive staff that they should be proud of, wonderful food served with a little panache in an amazing private setting away from the riff-raff downstairs!! Incredible portion size for the wedding breakfast which was just delicious good food good company some excellent staff all together in a central location in the beautiful Scottish Borders.

Visited the Cross Keys Hotel for an evening meal in the restaurant - good selection on the menu, generous portions, relaxing surroundings and friendly staff. The food was delicious and very good value.

Waiter helpful and informative - we enjoyed his wine recommendation.

Most enjoyable... definitely recommend it.

As we were biking through several towns, location is very important and this hotel was great. Right in town, easy access to everything. The staff were very accommodating with regards to the bikes and the room was comfortable and clean. Dinner was tasty and the experience was lovely. Would stay here again.

We were in Kelso for a family function, and stayed at Cross Keys Hotel. The hotel has a excellent position in Kelso, being in the middle of the town square. But I,m afraid it went down hill from there. From the outside it looked tired and a bit neglected, there was pot planters on the window sills, but no flowers in them, only a few weeds.
We were greeted by pleasant gentleman at reception and given room 103.
It was a huge room, but very dated, tired, and in some cases very dirty with a window that did not close properly.
On the plus side the bed was very comfortable and sheets spotless, as was the bathroom.
The down side of the bathroom was that try as we might we were unable to get a hot/warm shower.
103 has a side view of the square, looking onto 1 or 2 shops, and at night into the late hours can be very noisy with people coming out of pubs & clubs,, with a few wanting to continue their arguments in the middle of the square .
Breakfast its self was " o k ".....buffet type and not to hot..., had to ask staff chatting to each other for tea/coffee and some toast.
All in all a O K hotel for a 1 night stay..... would I recommend it?..... no not really.

Stayed three nights. Clean quiet room and a good nights sleep. Friendly and helpful staff. Food good, though for evening meals the hotel needs to remember that Kelso's independent restaurants set a tough standard to match.

I and 19 other golfers stayed at this hotel recently and were pleasantly surprised with the quality and variety of the food at breakfats and dinner. Al the staff from the receptionists to the waitresses and bar staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and well sized. We are certainly considering returning next year.
