We warmly recommend Neil's house: cosy, clean, well situated to discover the stunning views all around Glencoe. Neil was very concerned about our well-being, we are thankful about this.

“Great value - charming and cozy cottage, stunning location”
Reviewed May 13, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

The cottage was extremely cozy and spacious at the same time. The sofas and beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was very spacious if you intend do some home dining. The cottage had plenty of entertainment - sky, internet and also had a real fire place. The front has a stunning view of the adjacent mountains, its a three minute walk to the the beautiful loch leven. Opposite is a first class bar/restaurant with amazing food and the bus stop is over the road meaning you can get to the wider area without any hassle. I'd certainly recommend to take a car to make the most of this area. Thanks to Neil and Katya for the excellent hospitality and all the advice for where to go/what to do.

“Great cottage in a great location”
Reviewed September 10, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

I spent 3 nights here with my 3 adult sons and really loved it. The cottage itself has pretty much everything you need and the owners, Neil and Katya, are on hand for any issues. As they run the adjoining guest house, we also arranged to have breakfast there which seemed like the best of both worlds and set us up for a day's walking. The location is excellent - we walked from the door up the Laroch valley behind Ballachulish. Neil was very welcoming and helpful while his wife cooked up a fantastic breakfast!

“Great cottage and facilities, conveniently in the centre of Ballachulish, but still with great mountain views too”
Reviewed August 10, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

I stayed in the Strathassynt Cottage with my wife and 2 daughters (13 and 10) 1-8 August 2015. The cottage is well proportioned for a family of 4 staying, with plenty of space for all to comfortably sit in the lounge and cook and eat in the large kitchen/dining area. Both bedrooms were of a good size and had en-suite shower, sink and toilet; and there's a third toilet room with sink if that weren't enough. The whole cottage was clean and well provided for with towels, bedding and other consumables stocked in the shower rooms and kitchen. This is a real bonus, resulting from the cottage being adjacent to the owners in the Strathassynt Guest House; you get far more service and attention than is normal for a self-catering cottage let, in my experience. The Sky TV and wifi internet were particularly useful, not only keeping younger family members entertained when the weather delays getting out (or returning early), but the wifi was invaluable for planning activities and pre-booking. This is particularly relevant as the whole Glencoe area only has GPRS mobile phone data coverage, so access to fixed line internet is invaluable. The cottage also benefits from being in the centre of Ballachulish village, so there's the local Co-Op grocery shop literally yards away, open for getting supplies 7am-10pm, and the village pub/restaurant is across the road. Being central doesn't mean that you loose the views though, with mountain vistas dominating from the lounge and kitchen/dining room windows. Finally, the cottage has its own parking space and there's a small garden that can be accessed from patio doors from the lounge area.

In all we had a great stay at the Strathassynt Cottage and it easily lived up to our expectations. A particular thanks to Neil and the rest of the Strathassynt team.

“Best place to stay in the Village”
Reviewed August 7, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

I stayed in the cottage with my wife and 2 children and had a very nice time there. Sky TV and wide range of DVDs and boardgames kept us all entertained during our downtime along with sitting outside in the garden with the most beautiful views of the Highlands. It was great for a family break. Cottage had all modcons and was very clean and fresh throughout. We are hoping to return soon with a group of adults because with the pub across the road is in the perfect place to be after a hard days hillwalking.
