After a Saturday morning walk we popped in to rest and refresh. Like nowhere else we have been recently. Blazing fires in each room, lots of nice families having lunch.
Not to everyone's taste though: row of posh German cars lined up outside, the owners dogs begging at the tables for food, toddlers and their toys on floor. But that made it feel very homely.
Excellent service from young chaps.
Food good but expect to pay about 30% more than usual for a pub.

Very good food and service in a superb location. Busy Sunday lunch - a good sign - so book in advance.

Super fish and chips, very friendly and welcoming staff, open fire, comfortable seats and attractive location. Very dog friendly, too!

We stayed here for one night with our toddler - we had the attic room which was brilliant with a little separate room for him. Highlights were: lovely relaxing atmosphere with a roaring fire, amazing comfy bed and drenching shower, waking up in the morning to find a little jug of milk outside our room for our son, friendly and helpful staff and the breakfast was just out of this world. I had the mushrooms with thyme on toast which was delicious, and hubby had a full English which he said was the best breakfast he's ever had. Only slight negative was the limited vegetarian option (1 starter and 1, for me, unappealing main) on the dinner menu. We are in hunting, shooting, fishing territory here though, so they are forgiven!

Thoroughly recommended for a night away.

Booked in to stay at the beckford arms for one night, customer service was exceptional, the room was lovely had everything you could want and lovely homemade bath salts/ shampoo etc. The attention to detail was brilliant, we stayed in for the evening and ate in the Resturant the food is to die for, on first sight the prices may seem a lot but you understand why as your eating, the log fire was a lovely touch. We left completely relaxed and are planning our next visit already!
