“Location stunning, customer service poor!”
Reviewed September 5, 2011

Stunning location, beautiful setting but the staff were plain weird. The people who run this place made us feel really uncomfortable and it felt like we were staying in our mum's house. They would ask us what time we wanted breakfast and to check out and then when we answered with perfectly reasonable times, they said that we were 'abusing their staff' and that they'd have to pay their staff extra to accomodate our request of breakfast at 9am and checkout at 10.30am. The 'staff' who was having to be paid extra to look after us turned out to be their daughter! We would not recommend this place to anyone.

Beautiful bed and breakfast, set in charming village. Nothing too much trouble, lovely bedroom with ensuite, very clean, good size. Fantastic english breakfast served with home made jams and chutneys. We will be back, very good value.

Room Tip: Only 3 rooms, all excellent, pretty and comfy

In the heart of a beautiful National Trust village, yet quiet and secluded with picturesque views of the church,, a wonderful old building with spacious and comfortable rooms. Standards of cleanliness were excellent, and the owners seemed to have thought of everything. First class breakfast with local produce, and entertaining conversation from David!

The room was absolutely charming! The view of the church out of the window was amazing.
The bathroom was modern and spotless. The host & hostess were lovely, helpful and entertaining. The breakfast was exceptional. We had a delightful time even in the rain! We wished we could stay longer.

We stayed here for a short break on the 8th and 9th July 2011 to celebrate our seventh wedding anniversary, the surroundings of Lacock village were perfect and our room was fantastic overlooking the village Church. Excellent attention to every detail has been paid by the owners Simone and David, it really is a truly romantic place to stay.

The breakfasts (which were huge!) were made from locally sourced ingredients and lovingly prepared, including homemade bread and jams.

Both restaurants for our evening meals, were excellently located within 5 minutes walking distance from the bed and breakfast, and the bed and breakfast is located within 5 minutes walk of the beautiful Lacock Abbey and its gardens.

Myself and my husband would highly recommend this bed and breakfast and we shall certainly be returning soon. Thankyou for making our stay and our 7th wedding anniversary so memorable.

Very welcoming and right near Harry Potters house too.
Own entrance to bed & breafast allowed us to come and go at our own pace

My husband and I and our little dog have been staying at the Lacock Pottery for many years, while visiting family in the area. We have always enjoyed our stay there and particularly like the Govenor's House, which is convenient when the dog is with us.
Simone's breakfasts we regard as the benchmark for any B&B,rarely reached and never surpassed! The company staying there is usually convivial, and David's pottery is always worth a visit.

Room Tip: The Governor's House offers more privacy and a TV, but all rooms are comfortable
