My wife and I visited this lovely hideaway for a weekend, we can find no fault with the facilities and if it's a romantic place you are looking for, this is it! The only noise we could hear was birds singing and water running from the waterfall at the back of the property, we made the most of the hot tub, perfect weekend.

“Stay here for Shropshire”
Reviewed May 16, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

From the excellent communication, including directions ,to the stay itself the experience here will be used to compare against any future holiday let in the country It was recommended by a friend and I will further recommend it to others. The location is situated in the rear of the owners garden, which does not sound great but rest assured it is private. We stayed for 4 nights and wish we had stayed longer. there is a reasonable walk from parking to lodge with a gravel path ( part of the planning permission I understand) so it was awkward to carry the suitcase but it was well worth it.It felt so much like a home that i would personally have liked a shelf in the heated bathroom to place our tooth brush etc.. if we return to the area it will be the place we return to.

wow!
what a beautiful little hideaway, nestled away in a quiet and peaceful wooded area with views of the Stretton hills, seated area for bbq's (bit cold in April) not forgetting the lovely little waterfall behind (visible through door) which runs under the cabin.
Immaculately presented Mark and Sara have taken everything into account to make your stay home from home with the added bonus of the hot tub, what more could you wish for to have a romantic night/s away, highly recommended

“Lovely relaxing lodge”
Reviewed May 2, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We stayed 3nights 24/4 to 27/4/16. We were met by Sara who is very friendly and helped us with our luggage from the car to the lodge. It is well set out - all in one big room. It overlooks a private area with BBQ and fire pit (which you have to pay for, or bring your own wood or charcoal). A bit irking whe you pay up to £145 pn. Also an electric garden heater (£1 ph, unfortunately people abuse when free and leave it on when not there. Better would have been to have it on a set timer which went off after say 15 mins a time. The balcony also has views overlooking Church Stretton in the distance which was very nice. The kitchen area was excellent and had ample pans/crockery etc, but we missed having a teapot. The bathroom was excellent, a large walk in shower, heated tiled floor which we dried our towels on as the towel rail was too small for big bath sheets. The light is on a sensor and comes on as you walk in and goes off after 5/10 mins after you leave. The bed was firm but very comfortable. But he pillows were also firm with no bounce and not very comfortable. There was a hot tub on the balcony which was excellent. A nice touch would be to provide towelling dressing gowns for getting out, especially with the U.K weather (one of the reasons I didn't give 5*). I would definitely reccomend Oaks Retreat and look forward to returning in the future. The Church Stretton area is lovely. We had an excellent meal in the Green Dragon in Little Stretton.

“Amazing hide away”

I stayed here for 2 nights recently with my girlfriend, the lodge is completely tucked away and quiet. It has everything you need, Hot tub is amazing, and a lovely bottle of prosecco waiting for us. Sara & Mark are very accommodating and very respectful of your privacy. A 5 minute drive into the lovely town with some nice little shops and restaurants.
After being recommended by Sara, I decided to book a spa treatment for my girlfriend through mypersonalsanctury.com who came out to the lodge, really good service and she really enjoyed the treatment. All in all this is a great place to visit, we're already planning our return!

“Wonderful weekend”
Reviewed April 18, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Just spent the most wonderful weekend at The Oaks retreat. Everything was perfect and is the ideal place to get away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life. Tucked away you have complete privacy whilst also treated to the beautiful views and walking distance to the town. Perfect for long walks and relaxing in the hot tub to top off the day. Lovely hosts and definitely want to go back!! Thanks again Rebecca & Robin
