Visited Church Stretton again for the Bank Holiday weekend and wanted to sample the cuisine at The Studio again... we were not disappointed! The quality of the food if anything has got better. We had a sea bass and fillet steak main courses which were cooked and prepared to perfection!
Our starters and deserts were just as good - Sheila's parkin and Tony's ice cream are to die for! ;)
The only disappointment is I understand that the restaurant is on the market .... it would be such a shame if Church Stretton lost one of it's best places to eat .. if not it's best!!

The food, atmosphere and service were all excellent. The menu had a wide variety and our expectations were met & exceeded. The studio is certainly worth a visit for anyone visiting Church Stretton.

We went for dinner on Saturday in January to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our first time, but we were welcomed like regulars. Excellent fresh seasonal fare, including artichoke and cep soup and a superb risotto for starters, followed by pheasant crown with chestnuts and bacon and sea bass fillets for mains. Everything done to perfection and the selection of ice creams and "Sheila's parkin with ginger, ice cream and boozy prunes" topped off the experience.

Two recommendations: first, if you haven't been there yet, go soon. The proprietors are looking to retire to be closer to their family, so there is limited time left to experience this local treasure. Second, if you're in the market for a restaurant with a great reputation and established clientele, buy this one. It's been in Church Stretton for over 50 years and bears comparison with some of its better known peers down the road in Ludlow.

Can't recommend it higher than five stars and hope it's still around to take friends for another few months!

We were staying in Church Stretton town and it was a treat to be able to walk out to such a good restaurant. It is run by a husband and wife team and this sets the tone for a welcoming and pleasant evening. We enjoyed a drink in the comfortable bar as we chose our meal. There is a small but varied menu with some daily specials to choose from. We enjoyed a delicious risotto starter followed by calves liver, cooked perfectly and rose veal with a lovely mushroom sauce. It is a small and popular restaurant so probably best to book to avoid disappointment.

We have eaten in this delightful restaurant on several special occasions over the last ten years. It never fails to please; from the friendly but not intrusive front of house, to the varied menu of freshly cooked food from local sources, the efficient service and the intimate, slightly old-fashioned "parlour" atmosphere. Lovely.
