“Stay at Brookfields Guest House, Church Stretton”
Reviewed August 6, 2012

Brookfields is an exceptional guest house. Angie and Paul provide excellent service in all respects. The bedrooms and public rooms are spotlessly clean, well-maintained each day and very comfortable. The breakfast provided is first class with a good supply of fresh fruits as well as the more traditional cereals, muesli (which was delicious) and the full english breakfast. There is plenty of on-site parking at the guest house, and it's an easy ten minute walk into the centre of Church Stretton. The town's railway station is only 5 minutes away on foot, so a visit by train is also very feasible.

Room Tip: Some rooms have panoramic views of the hills surrounding Church Stretton.

We stayed for one night and arrived after a long hot journey in the car. We were greeted by the friendly owner who saw us pull in and he helpfully offered to carry our bags inside. The room itself was fantastic and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. I don't usually sleep well in unfamiliar settings but I did that night! There was a wide choice of items for breakfast and I recommend the locally sourced full English. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed at Brookfields Guesthouse for 3 nights and had a lovely time. Paul and Angie had thought of everything to make our B&B stay very comfortable - a lovely bed, a wonderful view, a comfortable and scrupulously clean room, and great breakfasts - and they themselves were friendly and helpful hosts. With the exception of the poor wifi access, our stay was without fault.

Church Stretton was a great place for us to take a break on our way north. The walk over The Long Mynde was thoroughly enjoyable, and we enjoyed our day of exploration into Wales. We also enjoyed some lovely meals at Little Stretton and in Church Stretton itself.

One of the most friendly and well run guest houses we have stayed in. The whole house is very well decorated and furnished. Our room had a lovely view of the minde hills. Exellent breakfasts. Plenty of places to visit. We were a group of four and all felt the same.Thank you Paul and Angie. A great place to stay. We will return.

I visit mum 3 times a year and during the summer months its quite hard to find a guest house. I have wanted to try Brookfields for sometime but they have always been fully booked and now I understand why. The other guesthouses in the area are all well and good but I have to be fair having stayed at most of them over the years my long weekend at Brookfields was really very special. The guest house is ran by a genuine couple called Paul & Angie. They did everything and more one could ever expect. The level of service was better YES BETTER than my stay at the Hilton in March last year. The house is so very tidy, great breakfast but more on the couple that run it. I dont know about you but sometimes I get the feeling I'm in someones home and its an ill fitting glove but not at Brookfields. At Brookfields I felt like I was home and the other people were friends. You really do have to try it and you will never consider another guest house.

Room Tip: Don't hesitate, take what ever they have because they are great. Wide breakfast choice too.

Me and my partner wanted to get away to relax and chose this hotel mainly for its location. It was fantastic at brookfields, the owners could not have done more for us! The rooms were lovely and Fresh, food was great and views were breathtaking. although we have stayed in many city locations before there was plenty to do with a wonderful small
Town nearby and golf course that we enjoyed. Our visit was made perfect by angie and Paul, thank you. We will most defiantly be returning soon.

We found Brookfields on the Internet, so had no 'word of mouth' rating. We need not have worried; the house was delightful, relaxed and with all the modern conveniences but more than that, Paul and Angie were excellent hosts and served delicious, made to taste breakfasts. They were also very knowledgeable about the area, which was useful.

Our only problem was that they did not accept cards for payment - no problem if you are aware of the restriction.
