A great place for either a long or short visit. Plenty of walks of varied difficulties & distances, but also a great place a for a short stroll. Children love to play around the brook in the summer. The tea room is very good. Lovely place especially when the heathr is in flower.

Lovely genuine swiss chalet in the base of a very beautiful valley. We have been several times and the service and food are always good, the surroundings are stunning, if you are in the area it's definitely worth a visit.

Being National Trust members it was free to park so this day out didn't cost us a penny! Absolutely stunning scenary. As you walk from the car park there is an information hut where you can pick up free walking cards detailing routes around the valley at different levels of difficulty. As it was very bright but bitterly cold we did one of the shorter routes to the reservoir where you could go for a dip in the summer. There is a bird hut for any enthusiasts out there and plenty of litter bins and seating / picnic areas dotted around. Stopped for a cream tea afterwards in the typically good national trust cafe. Can't wait to go back to walk the other routes!

What a beautiful location. Parking was £3.50 for the day, but well worth it. We just stopped to have lunch, but will go back to sample some of the walks.

The Carding Mill Valley offers walks to suit all ages and abilities, in the spectacular scenery of Shropshires Long Mynd. Start at the NT shop to take a stroll to the reservoir or a more challenging walk from the leaflets at the restaurant. And on your return sample the lovely grub they serve!
For a variation try the challenging Ashes hollow walk (6 miles). Or take a leisurely drive to the car parks at the top of the long mynd to enjoy the scenery without the effort!
