“Worth the journey”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

This pub is located in a very secluded rural village but is well worth the journey. I visited with a party of 9. We received a warm welcome from the waitress and the owner before being seated in a lovely private dining room.

The menu comprised various pub classics, all of which were prepared very nicely. The prices were also very reasonable.

Overall this pub has a great rustic charm and is well worth a visit for anyone seeking good homecooked food.

This is without a doubt worth a visit! The staff are very warm, friendly and welcoming and so is the surroundings. The food is five star and the service is excellent. I have recommended the Bottle & Glass to all of my work friends and they have also been and loved it.

I had been looking forward to going the Bottle and Glass for a long time, and it didn't disappoint. The food was lovely. I had the Prawn with chorizo to start and then the burger for main. The service was great. Thank you to Jon, Elaine and Lilly for their very friendly welcome to myself and my wife. I would recommend this pub to anyone looking for a relaxed environment to have a meal and a drink.

Finding this pub was a delight - in a great location - it has a genuinely warm ambience and there was a good range of food to suit all tastes. Our first visit was with our family group with ages ranging up to 90 - and we all enjoyed what we ordered. The best 'fishermans' pie' my husband has eaten anywhere he told us all! Having enjoyed this visit so much - especially sitting next to a log fire in a really lovely, old beamed room - we decided we must return. Our 2nd visit was just as good an experience, so although we only come to Shrewsbury occasionally to visit an elderly relative, the Bottle and Glass will become a regular place for us to eat.

The re-opening of the pub has been long awaited and Jon & Jane have not disappointed. They have created a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere, We have had a number of meals sampling both the lunch and evening menus, all of which have been excellent but the steaks and goulash soup are both worthy of particular note! In addition the New Years Eve event was first class we all enjoyed it immensly. Thank you Jon, Jane and all the staff we look forward to many more classic evenings!

So pleased that this lovely pub has reopened. We went last week, great service, well kept real ales, excellent food, very comfortable and welcoming. Was really happy with the very good vegetarian Sunday lunch and my husband ate his traditional Sunday lunch with gusto. Will definitely return.
