“Great place for tea/scone”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Wonderfully small and intimate place in an old building. A nice place to stop at for a refresher. Prices are inexpensive as well.

“good food and sevice - overpriced”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

Excellent cake and sevice - good atmosphere and welcoming environment. Cake too expensive! Clearly very popular and looks a good location for an evening meal - good looking menu for private functions.

I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to us, but disappointed that you consider £2.25 or £2.50 too expensive for a generous slice of one of our "excellent" cakes, all of which are home-made using organic flour, local free-range eggs, Shropshire farm butter and ethically-traded dried fruit/nuts/chocolate.

“Tucked away, but well worth finding!”
Reviewed December 12, 2012

We had heard from a friend that this little cafe served well priced, home-cooked, delicious food so decided to try lunch there on a cold Saturday in November. It was packed full with hungry diners, but space was still found for us. We were delighted to find that our friend's recommendation was spot on. The food was excellent, with courteous and friendly service and good prices. I tried their liver and bacon which was cooked to perfection. Apparently all their food is locally sourced (there's a list of suppliers with the menu) and there were many good Vegetarian options; my husband tried their goat's cheese tartlet, which he said was very good indeed. The menu choices were very imaginative, and we will definitely be returning there again soon to try some of the other dishes. I believe they open in the evenings by arrangement.

“What a lovely cafe!”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

We have been several times to Berry's over the years and went again on a very cold and wet day in November 2012. It's very tucked away down an alley and rather unprepossessing but once inside there are a number of rooms and one with lovely couches and chairs and a roaring fire - just right after being out on a rotten day. We had tea and fruit scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam as well as hot chocolate but could have had a range of delicious home-made cakes and almost anything else you would expect from a tea-time menu. We weren't pushed to move and the service was exemplary. What a lovely place and we will definitely visit again next time we're in Stretton.
