A recent family weekend away...

From looking at the hotel's website we had booked the luxury suite. This rooms is decorated to modern standards with an annexe. The annexe had a sofa bed and additional TV with views over looking the loch.

Dinner was had in the restuarant and we can definitely recommend the food here. Service was prompt and orderly with food arriving quickly. The children's chicken and chips was delicious - real chicken nuggets and freshly fried chips - thank you!

Our starters were substantial in size and food quality was good apart from the hair in my wife's salad :-( I had the lamb shank which was served with seasonal vegetables. Not may restuarants nowadays serve seasonal veg and this noce touch was certainly noted and well appreciated. The lamb was well cooked and deliciously tender, just fell off the bone. The goat's cheese pasta dish was again generous but the pasta was a little under-done and could have done with an extra 30 seconds in the boiling water.

Breakfast was a combination of buffet style and hot orders. The buffet breakfast was reasonable in selection. The porridge was very stodgy, almost like rice pudding! The cooked breakfast options are good though the scrambled eggs could have been improved on. They lacked regular stirring through cooking so there were orange bits in it which our toddler did not enjoy. Toast was served very quicky which meant it was cold by the time the hot food arrived - in our humble opinions we would have liked the toast with the hot food and possibly we should have just asked.

We would definitely recommend Myrtle Bank if visiting Gairloch.

We spent two nights in this lovely hotel in Gairloch. All the staff were superb and not have been more hospitable. Our room was large and comfortable - great bed. We had a very good evening meal and the packed lunch that was made up for us was excellent - I want the chocolate cake recipe!! I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Located in the small coastal village of Gairloch this hotel overlooks the sea and has a stunning backdrop of hills to the rear. Staff were extremely helpful, especially Neil, Jo and Ken.
Immaculately clean and the rooms are modern with comfortable beds. A very pleasant stay.

Not your typical "highland hotel". Airy, spacious, friendly, clean and super staff, Exceeded my expectations. It was nice to a see a hotel actually looking to the future - when we arrived the finishing touches were being made to the new outside seating area. Warm welcome and efficient service. Delicious food (and genuinely friendly servers, which makes a refreshing change!). I would have no qualms in booking another stay here., No criticisms but I would say keep an eye on bathroom tiles! Just beginning to suffer the initial effects of grout mould - halt it now and can I recommend HG mould spray! (no I don't get commission but it works pretty well!). You can tell that there is a genuine interest in providing an excellent service to customers from the owners - keep up the good work and see you again!!

Room Tip: Rooms on the front have a sea view and book your dinner time when you arrive as it gets busy!

This was probably the 5th or 6th time we stayed at the Myrtle Bank. They have made definite improvements in the rooms - not that there was any problem with them before. There were. New linens, new shower enclosures and the like. The bar and restaurant continue to be top notch. Of course, the views from the front needed no improvement - amazing! The only problem we had was that we couldn't figure out how to work the TV.

Room Tip: Try to score a sea view room - otherwise go to the solarium and enjoy the view.

Located in the centre of this small coastal village, this properties sea view rooms were a pleasant surprise. The public areas whilst not as modern, were immaculate, clean and well kept. This is a family run business and they obviously take pride in their property. The sea view rooms have been recently renovated and are modern, tastefully decorated with lovely views. Standard rooms are not as a high standard however still tastefully decorated and comfortable. There was some noise from the public bar directly below the standard rooms however this stopped once the bar closed around 1100pm.The restaurant food was lovely and was quite busy. Dessert was amazing and we were able to have dessert and after dinner drinks in the conservatory overlooking the bay. Whilst the weather was not so good, I have been to Gairloch before in summer and the views and scenery is stunning.Gairloch is a great base for touring the highlands and I would definitely stay at this property again. Book a Seaview room and book well in advance over summer as this is a popular property with limited number of seaview rooms.

Management & Staff extremely helpful & efficient which makes for a very relaxed atmosphere whatever you are doing.
Food is excellent whether it be breakfast a bar meal or a full dinner.
The bars are very well stocked with a wide range of beers and spirits.
Would have no hesitation in recommending it as a place stay or for dining out.
