Despite a low key exterior the Myrtle Bank offers first class accommodation, brilliant food (great quality of ingredients, superb presentation and great breadth of menu) with fabulous service thrown in, and all in a setting that's one of the best in Western Scotland. Will definitely return and would recommend to anyone

Sunday night dinner, had great quality and quantity. Owner is real friendly.
Lots of space to sit and take in fantastic view of the loch. This is good example of owner managed hotel.
Parking right by the door, so could not be simpler.

The hotel was having some work don on the outside as we went very early in the season, so they may have been having some work done on the inside too. Certainly they had a few new staff. The majority of the staff were really friendly, jolly and helpful, but one young chap (I think he was the new member) really needed some help on his customer services skills. We walked into the restaurant for our dinner reservation, he looked us straight in the eye for some time then walked straight by us with out saying a thing! He didn't really improve as the evening went on, but I'm sure it's due to his lack practise. The bedroom was nice and spacious, with a great sea view. The bed was a super king, but the mattress had us both rolling off to the far sides - so not the comfiest by any means. Breakfast was pretty good, not the best we'd had on this tour, but it certainly ticked all the boxes unless you were a veggie and then it was scrambled eggs on toast or fried bread. All in all, pretty average stay, but by no means a bad stay - if that makes sense.

Just enjoyed a 2 night stay here and was thrilled with everything. Service was amazing and the breakfast was the best my husband had ever had. With haggis, white pudding, black pudding and all the trimmings it was just what we needed. The bed was super comfy and the view was amazing. This hotel sits right on the edge of the water and you can leave the window open and hear the water lapping on shore. For the price this was great value and great hospitality. As an English person who now lives in the US I have gotten used to the awful coffee machines in US hotels so I was thrilled to have an actual kettle in the room! PG Tips first thing in the morning? Whats not to love! Thanks guys! We will definitely book again if we are back this way.

I stayed here for 5 nights whilst in the area on business and very much enjoyed my stay. Extremely friendly and attentive staff were always on hand. In terms of food, it was great quality and value and the portions were vast. From an impressive breakfast(!) to a very generous packed lunch (8.95GBP) that included 3 home made cakes each day, to the evening meal (that boasted a wide ranging menu), the food was tip top. Whilst the rooms were basic and west Coast Scottish architecture is hardly going to win any prizes, the facilities were very very tidy and clean and included free wifi and freeview. All in all, a cracking little west coast gem. PS - my colleagues and I are unanimous - particularly regarding breakfast!
