Had a great lunch here with my 2year old daughter and partner while on holiday in Gairloch. The food and service were superb and the staff made a real effort with our daughter who was being as boisterous as 2 year olds tend to be. A great wee place.

The Steading is an absolute treat, really couldn't have wished for more. The nicest cakes I have EVER eaten, lovely coffee, gorgeous platters to share, the most comfortable, yet stylish surroundings and above all a lovely friendly welcome for us and our children. The perfect place to snuggle in and just enjoy!

On a cold wet windy February lunchtime this place was like a magical oasis. With what seemed like most of Wester Ross being closed for half term, The Steading was recommended by locals and it was great.
With a young family we were well looked after and it's always a good sign when locals you know are eating and drinking in there too.
The food was well made (the coleslaw is awesome) and was delivered promptly. The service was excellent and the atmosphere is like nowhere else up there - vibrant and modern.
The menu seemed a little restrictive (wraps were the main offering) but well worth a visit (even if only for the coffee and cakes - which are great)...
We'll be back :)

Whether you are a local or a visitor you have to agree that trying to find a trendy, yummy and friendly place to have a bite and a drink in Gairloch can be difficult. After visiting the Steading Bistro over the new year holidays I can finally say that at last the hunt is over. This place is a hidden gem amongst dated and 'samey' hotel pubs and restaurants. Serving up scrummy homemade cakes, soups and rolls (cranberry and rosemary is my personal favourite) and a great variety of meals including sharing platters and specials - we got some crispy potato wedges - it's the perfect choice for an afternoon out. I can't wait to return I'm the summer to enjoy a large G & T in the beautiful cobbled courtyard - I think i might even add some nachos (yes I said nachos in Gairloch!) and a nice chat with the staff to that date - see you soon Steading Bistro!

We are so lucky to have The Steading in this area. As another reviewer has so eloquently stated, the interior has been fixed without losing sight of the traditional building in which the cafe is situated. The food on offer is delicious, made on the premises and abundant. The baked goods - scones, cakes, brownies, etc. - can't be beat. Five stars plus!
