“A very warm welcome from our charming hostess Marion.”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

We arrived in the teeth of a force 11 gale in early March to a warm welcome from Marion with tea, coffee and home made rock buns served in the delightful lounge with a log burning fire. Our room had amazing views of the bay and was exceedingly comfortable. Delicious breakfast. Hope to return one day.

Room Tip: Ask for the double room with the view of the bay.

Immaculate, comfortable, modern and super-friendly. Our room had a gorgeous view over the bay and tasteful five-star facilities (loved the shower!). Delicious and very plentiful breakfasts. Marion was very welcoming and helpful.
Definitely an excellent choice, if you can get in.

Room Tip: Double room facing the bay

We spent two nights here, and wish it could have been longer, it is so good. Everything is just right. Thoroughly recommended. We also recommend the Myrtle Bank hotel for dinner. Perhaps not the cheapest, but very good food, and stunning views across the loch.

Most of the time we forget to write a review of a accommodation after a holiday, but this on really deserves it. We stayed 5 nights (last week) in this wonderfull B&B for walking the hills in Torridon and Coigach. The location is great, on a hill with nice views over the bay of Gairloch. It’ s just a 5 minute walk to the centre of this small fisherman village, with a couple of good and reasonably priced restaurants. The B&B itself is modern, clean and spacious. As a guest you can also, apart from your sleeping room (with good beds), use a cosy living room with a fireplace, big tv etc. The breakfast in the morning, continental or English at your choice, was great, especially the sausages. The owner, Marion, made us feel real welcome. Every evening when we returned from a wet, but rewarding day of hillwalking she awaited us for drying our clothes and even offered to wash them and put on the fireplace in the livingroom for us. She and her son also provided us with good tips for walking in the area. For both of us this was one of the best B&B we ever stayed in and we can really recommend it.

This really is THE place to stay in Gairloch! It is beautifully situated on a hill overlooking Gairloch and the bay with the mountains as a backdrop. Its position means that there is a high degree of privacy but it is only about 5 minutes to walk to the village 'centre' (which is spread along the sea front). It is a new building with 2 guest rooms available (we had the double, the other was a twin) and the fittings and decoration is all of a high quality and tasteful. Our room was a good size as was the stone tiled bathroom with a spacious walk in shower that was most invigorating. The view from our room was of the bay, beach and mountains and it was wonderful to wake up to on the fine days. The windows were double glazed and even with the wind howling outside (always a risk in the highlands), it was cozy within. The room was appointed with tea&coffee facilities with extra touches like hot chocolate, speciality teas, biscuits and a mint chocolate every day. There was also a flat screen tv, hair-drier, wi-fi, spare blanket and pillows, guest information and plenty of storage.
There was a guest lounge also provided with comfy sofas and armchairs, a fire place, tv, games, books and extra information about the area.
Breakfast was served in the large conservatory/hall again with the lovely view. The table shared by up to 4 guests would ordinarily accommodate 10 people, so there is plenty of space for the array of food and drink. Staying for 3 nights we first tried the porridge (of the salty variant from Scotland but lovely with a spot of honey if you have a sweet tooth), on the second morning we had the continental cheeses and sliced meats (an imaginative selection) and on the final morning we had the full Scottish. All were superb. These were on top of a selection of toast, fresh fruit, grapefruit, yoghurts, muesli and cereals, plus juices, tea and coffee.
There is a spacious car park at the side of the house and Rory, the owners' sheep dog never fails to welcome guests in the hope of training them to play his favourite throw-the-ball game (see photo). He was a definite hit with the young girl staying at the B&B on one night.
Marion, the owner was very helpful advising us on ideas for places to visit, and even drying our soaking clothes after a particularly wet walk. We really enjoyed our stay here and regretted not having booked for longer. We fully recommend this B&B and would definitely only stay here again.

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights at the beginning of July. I can only echo all the previous reviews about Muldoanich and the owner Marion Taylor. Set on the hillside we had lovely views from the modern double room over the bay. A very comfortable king size bed, a fantastic bathroom, great breakfasts, lots of maps and tourist information, a comfy sitting room and a friendly welcoming atmosphere all added to our stay. I would not hesitate in recommending Muldoanich.

We stayed with Mrs Taylor for one night after our return to the mainland. Her family were very welcoming and we were very impressed with the high standard of the accommodation which included a superb wetroom as en suite facilities. Mrs Taylor was very sociable and we were pleased to talk about her voluntary commitments with the local ATC and also her family connections to the Isle of Barra. The location has fine views and is within easy reach of hotel/ restaurant facilities
