“Very good quality hotel”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

My wife an i stayed here in a superior double room for one night whilst visiting Anthony Worrall Thompson s restaurant in Henley.
Located approx 5 miles from Henley on Thames in a pretty village.
Almost faultless service, staff very friendly and attentive, rooms are very clean, nicely decorated, very spacious and bathroom are fab. One minor point on the bathroom is that although the shower is very hot and roomy it could do with a little more water pressure.
Breakfast was very nicely cooked with good quality produce and well portioned. One minor point about the breakfast is could do with more choice ie continental style as well as English.
Overall very nice stay for a reasonable price, we would defiantly go back again.

Room Tip: Although we didnt stay in a normal room, for £115 BB per night its worth spending the extra on a Sup...

Lovely spacious clean rooms. Not enough hot water.
Very nice pub/restaurant food good. Service seemed to lack management and coordination. Restaurant and bar area were very comfortable.
Overall we were well looked after and We would go back happily.

An amazing place to stay: great food, very friendly and helpful staff and beautiful decor. I am still ridiculously excited about the fact that we had a bath in our bedroom! I really loved the place and couldn't fault it. Yes, it was hot in the night but that is a personal thing as I prefer it colder but my partner's mother was praising it for being lovely and warm. I definitely want to go back in the summer to enjoy the seated areas outside - and have another bath in the bedroom!

We stayed in the Rum room (number 10 I think). Room was clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom looked like it had been refurbished recently and was to a high standard. Top tip is to check your radiator is off or low when you go to bed. We didn't check and woke up in the middle of the night absolutely roasting. I had to stick my head out of the window to cool down. Only down side to this room is that it is above the reception and we were woken by the phone ringing twice. Why anyone was phoning between 2 am and 4 am I don't know. As for breakfast, we were disappointed. We left the full English as it was pre cooked, help yourself and was only luke warm. I ordered 2 fried eggs on toast and got 2 eggs on 1 toast and one egg white was still runny. The wife ordered toast and got only 1 slice.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for Valentine's. First impressions were good - the manager was very welcoming and the room was really comfortable. I had planned dinner in another village but after a drink in the bar it was too cosy an atmosphere to leave, so again the manager was very good in accommodating us despite being fully booked in the restaurant. We were a little disappointed with the attentiveness of the waiting staff - we had to remind them about our drinks and missed out entirely on dessert (having paid for a three course meal) because they didn't remember to ask us, and when I asked at the bar they said the kitchen was already closed! It seemed it was up to us to make sure they had our order. Yes, they were ultra busy and we weren't sitting in the restaurant area, but still! Hence I removed a point, otherwise it would have been a solid 4. The next morning the full english breakfast was very good and again the atmosphere of the very old building lent a lovely feel. A quick visit to Henley, a very short drive away, rounded off a relaxing break.

Room Tip: Pistachio is a very nice room. It's in the original part of the building looking out on the main...

we stayed here whilst attending our daughters wedding nearby in Henley on thames. super hotel with a relaxed atmosphere, food excellent (especially the included english breakfast). only things to let it down were v small . room phone not working, a little on the chilly side (outside temp -5)and needed extra heater in room. bathroom fan not working. as i said little things. don't let this put you off. if we are ever in this area again we would have no hessitation in stopping here.Oh! almost forgot, on our 1st night we had 24 family and friends for dinner , service was great, food great and hot, everyone served with 5 mins or so, 3 quality courses at under £20 pp.

It's really wonderful to hear your lovely comments. The room is really lovely and so enjoyable to be able to have a bath in the room, that extra bit of decadence. We hope to welcome you back to the White Hart in the near future.
