“Too short a stay!”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

Beautiful Hotel, bar, restaurant and village.
Our room was an adequate size but without a viewable window, ie were velux windows in the roof! We stayed in summer this year and the room was rather hot (and the windows hard to open), however we did want to stay longer but the hotel was fully booked. In fact, we were conscious that people were actually waiting for us to vacate the next day so they could get in!
We ate an early dinner in the restaurant as we had plans for later, the food was excellent, as was the breakfast next morning.
The village itself is very small with nothing of particular interest, bar a craft shop and the paper shop.

Room Tip: our room was within the pub/hotel and was probably smaller than the purpose built rooms at the back.

Stayed in The White Hart hotel with my boyfriend last weekend and had a fantastic time! Rooms are big, decorated in a modern and very interesting style. Loved having a bath in the room! Everything was spotlessly clean, staff very friendly and professional. Loved having the restaurant in the hotel as well which served excellent food and wine. Also breakfast was delicious and served until 11 which is great for those who do not like to be up early. In general would recommend it to everyone - great value for money.

Room Tip: Stayed in Cocoa which was great! Big, clean and with a bath in the room.

Stayed here with another couple last weekend and enjoyed almost every aspect of our stay. Excellent rooms, with very comfy beds, the only gripe being no light over the mirror in the bedroom. First class food in the restaurant, not the cheapest, but reasonable. Breakfast was a bit limited in terms of choice, although the food provided was very good indeed. Free parking and an hours free wifi were good inclusions too. The nearby town of Henley won't leave you short of shopping options and I would say this is a great base for a weekend break. Overall, very good indeed and a good experience.

We spend a much needed weekend away with friends and all four of us said that without a doubt we would stay at The White Hart again. Henley is less than 10 minutes away and is packed with great shops run by people who extend a warm welcome (Daisy boutique on Friday Street is fabulous as is Patisserie Valerie). Our rooms (spearmint and muscat) were very comfortable, well equipped and peaceful - if a little dark (slightly challenging for hair drying or applying make-up but not a big deal). The staff gave us a lovely welcome (we arrived separately but all had the same experience), the food, wines, service and atmosphere in the restaurant was so good, we booked for the second night. The menu choices are varied and well chosen and the specials are good too. Good selection of wines at sensible prices as well. The hotel is lovely but in truth, it's the people that make it great. Many thanks to Charlotte, her South African husband (sorry - not sure I can remember his name - maybe Johan?) and Andrea for making our stay so memorable - hopefully you know that you made the difference.

My husband and I stayed at the White Hart hotel last Saturday as part of my birthday celebrations. Our room was a superior double 'Olive' part of a converted annex building - however only a few steps away from the main hotel.

The room was large with a fabulous sleigh bed, lovely linen and fluffy pillows - even a small terrace that could be used in the warmer weather.
Slept soundly as it was so very quiet - just the birds in the morning!!
just a little thing - the heating is not individually controlled however with ample windows and the terrace doors fresh air is easy to obtain.
Really pretty room with the feeling that you were in your own little cottage.

Dinner on Saturday evening was relaxed with attentive staff and food great.
Breakfast the following morning was also very good. main items in a small buffet however eggs were cooked to order - brilliant idea.
Thing to note here is that breakfast is served from 0800-1100...that additional hour of service is a luxury in itself.

Andrea was charming, allowing her guests to relax - an art in itself.

Thanks for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: hotel located in the main street - would opt for a room in the annex - so quiet.

I stayed here for one night on a business trip and was delighted I had been sent here. Upon arrival I was warmly greeted and shown to my room, a lovely, well-furnished bedroom with bathroom containing the biggest bath I've ever seen. Went down to the bar for a drink and some food and opted for the steak which was, without doubt, the best steak I have ever had. The breakfast next morning was equally as good and the service throughout was fantastic. My bedroom was comfortable and quiet and I would highly recommend this hotel and even just for a meal if passing through. Exceptional.
