After a very long journey we received a warm welcome and we felt just like old friends, immediately comfortable, cosseted, cared for. Everything catered or, nothing to worry about, just relax and enjoy. Helpful, brilliant recommendation of dinner at The Old Boat House, Amble - quirky, fabulous fish dishes. Wonderful nights sleep, really enjoyable breakfasts around a large table with likeminded people that we could chat with. Dorothy has the balance just right of being there when you need anything, but quietly in the background when you are eating and Brian cooks the most delicious breakfasts. This is an experienced couple who know just what a weary couple of travellers need. We left rested and recuperated and loved!

Room Tip: We had a large bedroom with comfy bed and large bathroom with standalone bath

Myself, husband and 2 children have just completed a 3 night stay in Catherine cottage, my sister and her family in Emma’s cottage and our mum stayed in the farmhouse B & B and we all agree it was wonderful. The barn conversion cottages are exceptionally tidy and well equipped. The beds comfortable and everything clean. The location for Alnwick and Alnmouth is excellent. We also ventured up to Seahouses for a Farne island trip. Dorthey and Brian are excellent hosts, nothing was too much trouble and the farm trip was really enjoyed by fellow farmers!!
We would definitely recommend these barns for a family stay looking for tidy cottages, great hosts, beautiful peaceful setting and stress free holiday.
We will be back.

We stayed for 2 nights during the glorious early May weather. We had the' Girls room', with a bathroom to match a fine hotel.
The view from our big window across the rape fields and down to the sea was beautiful, the bed was very comfortable, tea-making facilities ideal.
Breakfast was as ginormous as you'd want and of high quality produce.
To cap it all, Dorothy and Brian were great hosts, helpful and welcoming.
Don't give 5 stars very often, this B&B deserves it.

Room Tip: 'Girls' room gives great views to the sea and a splendid bathroom.

We spent two days in the early part of January in Dorothy’s cottage with our 9 year old. The place is so warm and welcoming that we immediately felt on holiday and relaxed. The farmhouse charm and lovely furnishings were extremely comfortable- a real home from home- and what really made it for us were the views over the farmland to the sea, and the real fire. A great location close to Alnwick and Alnmouth with good restaurants and boutique shops. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

A very enjoyable stay. The cottage was warm and comfortable. Tastefully decorated to match the property and fully equipped.
We stayed for 4 nights over Christmas and with the log burner, and Christmas tree provided, felt very much at home.
We needed to ask a couple of questions and the lanlords sorted these out very quickly, including coming straight up to show us how to work the electric Cooker!

We would certainly book to stay at this cottage again regardless of the time of year - though perhaps we'll opt for the summer next time so we can appreciate the wonderful setting and countryside.
