We were bough a groupon voucher for Christmas to stay here and it was excellent! Our room was beautifully furnished and the bathroom with freestanding roll top bath is a real feature! The rooms are provided with great little touches like Yorkshire tea and a teapot which is unusual for a pub with rooms! The food in the evening was faultless, an excellent meal and lovely wine. The staff are great - very friendly and good characters! After a great nights sleep the breakfast is superb to get you off to a great day in Harrogate! Thank you Fauconberg - we will return!!

I had the good fortune to stay in this charming old inn for three nights whilst in the area on business, being welcomed by Simon and his family, Helen, Chas and Jill. Ideally located in the centre of a wonderful Yorkshire village, with the old church just up the road, this is a pub that offers more. I stayed in a quiet twin room, despite being at the front of the hotel. It was comfortable and quite 'twee' with the usual 'in room' T&C equipment. Very clean with plenty of hot water and bath with shower over. Spot on.

I dined there every night and have to admit, by the third night the food had me beaten into submission. Only have starters if you're really hungry, Simon is a very generous host. Try the fish and chips or the scallops when available, Both were very good, and a worthy competitor to the food at the Crab and Lobster at Asenby - also worth a visit when in the area.

The service was the nicest part - dine outside - that's fine; in the bar, that's OK too; what about the dining room, if you prefer? Just a bacon sarnie for breakfast @ 7:30 - Certainly! Nothing was a trouble and, when owing to an administrative error, I was charged twice for the room, getting that sorted out was just as easy with Jill and Simon's help. A pleasure doing business.

Beautifully located, very welcoming service, comfortable and charming rooms, a traditional country pub feel with nice food. What more could you ask for when visiting this delightful part of the world. Keep it up!

Room Tip: Rooms at the front overlook the delightful village green

First time stayers. We loved being treated more like friends than paying guests. The food and accommodation was great. It really is a proper pub serving good food and ales. Please keep it that way as there are too many of these "gastro pubs" springing up that have lost all their atmosphere.Even our Scottie was treated great !
we will return.

From the moment we arrived we knew we had found a very special place. We felt very welcome, instantly relaxed and extremely comfortable. On Saturday we relaxed outside watching the little village of Coxwold go by, followed by a fantastic meal in the restuarant on Saturday evening. This can only be described as fine dining come home! We can highly recommend the black pudding starter - but be warned.....you won't need a main course!

The hosts were superb, friendly and in a very subtle way, couldn't do enough for you. The room we stayed in despite overlooking the car park, was beautiful, fairly large, extremely clean and well equipt. Just beyond the car park however, you have views of rolling green for miles, and from wherever you are the views are stunning. The freshly decorated bathroom had a large contemporary roll top bath and endless hot water..........

,,,,,,,,which brings us to breakfast! Despite being tempted by kippers by our hosts the night before, we opted for the Full Yorkshire Breakfast - and greatly disturbed "Chef" by asking for our eggs to be poached (only because he told us the night before he hated doing poached eggs!) They were great, and we loved it so much, we are going back next weekend for my birthday! See you again soon.
